Earlier this week we received the fantastic news of our listing in The Telegraph Best Pubs UK - the only pub in Nantwich included in the 2026 guide 🥳

Renowned travel writer Will Hawkes said: "The constraints and contours of the Black Lion make it hard to avoid conversation – even if you’re not involved. When I visited recently, a cheery group in the corner were teasing each other. “I can’t be that bad, you’ve been with me for 26 years!” “Depends which way you look at it, I suppose!” Cue guffaws.

"This is an atmospheric and friendly place, full of locals who come for the excellent beer as much as the ambiance.

"In a town not short on pubs, this is the best."

A huge thank you to our loyal regulars and everyone who has walked through our doors and supported us.

On top of that we're the ONLY pub in Nantwich to be recognised!
