❤️ A Final Thank You from the Khan Family ❤️

As we hand over the keys to Shish Mahal today, we just wanted to say one final thank you.

The love, support, kind messages, phone calls and visits we received over the weekend were truly overwhelming. Seeing so many familiar faces come through our doors one last time, sharing stories and memories from across the years, is something we will never forget.

For almost 50 years, it has been our honour and privilege to serve the people of Musselburgh. We have watched families grow, celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions, and welcomed generations of customers who became friends.

To every single person who chose Shish Mahal over the years—whether you visited every week or just occasionally—thank you. Your support has allowed our family to do what we love for nearly half a century, and for that we will always be grateful.

Today marks the end of the Khan family’s journey at Shish Mahal. The restaurant is now under new ownership and management.

Although it’s time for us to say goodbye, the memories we’ve shared with this wonderful community will stay with us forever.

❤️ Nearly 50 years of memories… and it’s moments like these we’ll never forget.

Today was incredibly special. We had the pleasure of welcoming so many familiar faces through our doors, including the Findlay family, who have supported Shish Mahal for many, many years.

Sharing stories, laughs and memories around the table reminded us that Shish Mahal has always been about more than just food. It’s been about friendships, family and being part of the Musselburgh community.

To everyone who came in today, thank you for your kind words, your support and your well wishes for our family’s next chapter. It truly meant the world to us.

As our final weekend continues, we’d love to welcome as many of you as possible for one last meal with the Khan family before we hand over the keys.

❤️ Tomorrow (Sunday) will be our final day serving the people of Musselburgh after almost 50 wonderful years.

After almost 50 incredible years, the time has come for the Khan family to say goodbye to Shish Mahal, Musselburgh.

What started nearly five decades ago has grown into so much more than a restaurant. We’ve had the privilege of serving generations of families, celebrating your special occasions, and becoming part of the Musselburgh community. We truly cannot thank you enough for your loyalty and support over the years.

As a family, we have made the decision to pursue new business opportunities, and with that, our journey at Shish Mahal has come to an end.

This Sunday will be our final day serving you as the Khan family. From Monday, the restaurant will be under completely new ownership and management, and the new owners will operate entirely independently of the Khan family. We will have no involvement in the business after the handover.

❤️ If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal with us, we’d love to welcome you one last time this weekend. Come and enjoy the food that has proudly served the people of Musselburgh for almost 50 years, and help us give Shish Mahal the farewell it deserves.

To every customer, friend, and member of staff who has been part of this journey—thank you. Your support has meant everything to us, and we’ll always be grateful for the memories we’ve shared.

We wish the new owners every success as they begin their own chapter, and we hope Shish Mahal continues to be a place the community enjoys for many years to come.
