ial occasions. I am registered as a food business with Cornwall Council, I have my Level 2 Food, Safety and Hygiene Certificate and also have the correct insurance including public liability. It is my pledge to support local and family run businesses where possible and use the finest ingredients available which includes free range local eggs, Trewithen Dairy butter, Boddington’s Stawberry and Raspberry compote, Madagascan vanilla, Fairtrade chocolate. 🤩 There’s something so special about knowing my bakes become part of someone’s holiday memories!

🧁 Freshly baked from my kitchen in Mousehole and finished with silky buttercream rose swirls, these cupcakes were the perfect gift to celebrate a 40th birthday.
My customer chose to add their own personalised cupcake toppers to make them extra special.

✨ A little something different from The Baking Maid… ✨

A rich, alcohol-infused fruit cake was requested to celebrate Rob’s 80th Birthday in Cornwall this week 🎉

Fruit cake isn’t something I get asked to make very often, so it was a real pleasure to dig out the traditional family Christmas cake recipe , (yes I know it’s July), and create something a little different.

This cake was first covered in a layer of marzipan and then finished off with smooth, luxury white fondant and shimmering-blue personalisation.

Sometimes, it’s the classic designs that make the biggest impact. 💙

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐮𝐦 💙🦋

A bit of a personal, sentimental post today… 🥹

If you’ve been following The Baking Maid journey, you’ll already know that I lost my Mum last year.

If it wasn’t for my Mum, there would be no Baking Maid !

She taught me to bake from a very early age, encouraged me every step of the way, and passed on the skills and love of baking that I still carry with me today.

Losing her, changed my world completely!
For a while, I felt like I’d lost my identity and my passion for baking.
But with true grit and determination, whilst navigating my way through grief, I found my way back to doing what I love. 🍰

Every cake I bake, every cupcake I decorate, and every celebration I’m trusted to be part of, is because of my Mum and everything she taught me.

Your support means the world to me too though !
Whenever you order from my little business, please know that no bake leaves my kitchen without a little love inside. ❤️

Can you believe we’re already in the second half of the year? 😲

Where is the time going?!

I’ve recently received lots of last-minute cake enquiries for July, and I’m so incredibly grateful. Unfortunately, my diary now has very limited availability, so I haven’t been able to accommodate every request.

I will always do my very best to squeeze in last-minute orders whenever I can… but sadly, my superwoman powers can only stretch so far! 🦸🏻‍♀️🧁

So, just a little reminder…

If you have a birthday, celebration, anniversary or any special occasion coming up, I’d love to hear from you as early as possible.

Booking ahead helps secure your preferred date and gives me plenty of time to create something truly special, made just for you. 🎂
