We’ve run out of borscht today — but we’ve got two brilliant soups ready to serve.

Forest Mushroom Soup (Yushka)
Deep, earthy, slow‑cooked flavour. Naturally vegan, with optional smetana.

Solyanka!
A hearty, savoury Ukrainian soup made with smoked ham, smoked sausage, doktorskaya and chicken. Served with smetana and black bread.
Rich, warming, and full of flavour — if you’ve never tried it, think of a cross between a stew and a soup with a beautiful smoky depth.

Any weather is soup weather.

Something new in the fridge at Slava Cafe 🇺🇦
We’re delighted to now be stocking Kolo Kvass — a Ukrainian craft drink made with rye and barley and naturally fermented for that distinctive malty, lightly sparkling taste.
If you’ve never tried kvass before, this is a good place to start. Think toasted rye bread, a touch of honey and dried fruit — refreshing, different and completely alcohol-free.
Proud to bring another little taste of Ukraine to Motherwell Shopping Centre. 🇺🇦🏴

Fresh today at Slava Cafe, Motherwell: Forest Mushroom Soup (Yushka).
We’ve been simmering mushrooms, herbs, and aromatics into a deep, earthy broth that’s naturally vegan — finished the traditional Ukrainian way with a spoon of smetana if you want it richer.

You can watch the whole process in our video: from chopping to the final ladle.

Our Ukrainian огірочки are made with the same unstoppable energy as a babushka who’s convinced you haven’t eaten a proper meal since childhood.
We pile them onto our salads, stack them into our sandwiches, and honestly… they’re getting so good we might need to jar them up before babushka starts handing them out to strangers “because you clearly don’t feed yourself”.

Fresh today at SLAVA: Pampushki + Borscht, and our own house Adjika.Pampushki are soft, warm Ukrainian bread bites — light, fluffy, and perfect for dipping into our freshly made borscht. If you’ve never tried them, think of the kind of bread you can pull apart and enjoy with soup… just better.And for something with a bit more character, we’ve made a batch of our own Adjika — a bold, aromatic red pepper sauce that we’ll be using in a guest sandwich and offering as an optional dip. It’s savoury, fragrant, and adds depth without overpowering.Everything handmade. Everything fresh.
