Apparently someone thinks we’re closing or moving? 🫤🫤

Just so you all know we’re not going anywhere and we love being in King’s Heath. Can’t get rid of us that easily 😉

For those who want the best we can make. A regular flat white is a thing of beauty but can you make it better: yes you can.

Using a process called Cryo-Concentration we reduce the water content of our already amazing milk from Brades Farm, The Lune Valley to create something even more rich and decadent. Think melted coffee ice cream. Chocolate, Strawberry & Fudge.

ESPRESSO: JAZZ FRUITS

Sticking around on as our House espresso is this 2026 Sidamo region Ethiopian from Dak Coffee Roaster. Lots of Stone Fruit, Berries & White Chocolate.

BATCH: BANKO GOTITI

Another Ethiopian lot, this time sourced from the Gedeb region. Washed process and roasted by the nice folks at Ithaka here in Birmingham. Apricot, Black Tea, Gentle Florals.

GUEST SERVE: TIRAMISU CREAM.

The hot guest serve is back for the start of autumn. Served 6oz with Dak’s Berrimisu Costa
Rican natural and our house made Cryo Concentrate Milk. Think liquid tiramisu. Yes really.

We’re having a swell old time with you all this month!

We are sadly having to close for the next two days due to staff shortages. Nothing major, just life happens sometimes and we can’t run the shop without a team.

REAL CHOCOLATE.

Some of you may have seen many of the big brands are using chocolate that is mainly palm oil AKA “compound chocolate”. It’s cheap, nasty tasting and doesn’t taste like chocolate.

Needless to say that doesn’t fly with us: we proudly use Callebaut Chocolate Cocoa and chocolate to make our Chocolate Fudge Cake. If you’ve had it before you understand that great chocolate makes great chocolate cake.

In short: eat real chocolate. It’s delicious.

With all the sunshine and iced coffees we forgot to tell you about six gorgeous coffees that have landed on our shelves by Edinburgh’s own Cult Coffee Roasters! Blame the heat…

Some espresso and filters, a delightful little decaf option and a SUPER interesting Koji & Orange Co-Ferment from Kenya. Currently debating whether it smells more like Terry’s Chocolate Orange or the Raspberry Sundae from a box of Roses. You decide.

MORNING SUNSHINE.

We’re having some really quite beautiful mornings here on Poplar Road and whilst our coffee always looks quite gorgeous the early morning rays are making it even better!

Currently brewing a wonderfully elevated single farm coffee from Nicaragua. The farmers from Finca Santa Rita have naturally processed this lot to produce and specially sweet yet bright espresso. Notes of Green Apple, Blackberry & Dark Chocolate.
