Our family has farmed in Northumberland for generations and if we don’t produce it ourselves we always know somebody local who does. The farm produces the very best beef, pork and lamb for our butchery – we are very proud of our reputation for quality, range and value. The farm shop kitchen prepares a great range of pies, cakes, quiches, ready meals and deli products, including our own cooked meats. Other Northumberland produce including fruit and vegetables, bread, milk, cheeses, preserves and honey are sourced direct from local suppliers. Our range is always expanding and features the best of any seasonal produce. Our very popular Coffee Shop offers the best of home baking – almost everything you eat will have been prepared from scratch by us. Our menu features daily and seasonal specials using ingredients from our own farm and other local growers. Our customers keep coming back time and time again – we look forward to seeing you as well.

A new face at Morpeth Farmers Market today. Izzy from Ravensworth Grange Farm is taking over from us at the market with her rare breed pork, lamb, sausages etc. Her family are multigeneration farmers and really know their stuff so get on down and try some of their great products. Now we do t have our own farm shop, this is where I’ll be buying from!!

So todays the big day (closing 3pm) - our last day of trading at Moorhouse farm Shop & Coffee Shop as Ian & Victoria semi retire from this aspect of their business. Your last chance to stock up - can't promise to have everything available but plenty of fresh meat and veg etc. A massive thanks to all of you for your custom over the last 30 plus years, both at the Farmers Market and the Farm Shop. And also to all of the team past and present who have worked with us over that time - many thanks for making things the success it's been.

Just a reminder to everyone that this is our last week of trading at Moorhouse Farm Shop and Coffee Shop. We'll close on Saturday 5th September at 3pm as Victoria and Ian semi-retire and move more onto other parts of their business. We still have most things on the butchery counter and plenty of veg and we'll have fresh bread, cakes etc as well. Some great prices on our more winter items such as bird seed, coal, rock salt so get stocked up in advance. A number of customers have asked about purchasing display items from the farm shop so if you are interested in something just let the team in the shop know and we'll get back to you.

A message from Ian and Victoria to Customers
After much thought and consideration over the last few months, we’ve made the decision to retire and close the Farm Shop, Coffee Shop and Farmers Market side of our business. Having built the business from scratch over the last 23 years, you will understand this has been a difficult decision to make but equally we are excited to see what comes next when we have a little more time available. We will remain involved in the farming side of things so there will still be plenty to keep us busy.
We couldn’t have succeeded without all of you, our customers, and we sincerely thank you all for your loyalty to us and for choosing locally sourced food over the years. Many of you have become friends as well as customers and we will miss all of the great chat over the counter and at the Farmers Market.
Of course, we must also express our immense gratitude to the great team at Moorhouse Farm, many of whom have been with us for a long time. All of our staff, both past and present, have been key to maintaining the quality of produce and warmth of customer service you have come to know us for.
Our last day of trading will be Saturday 5th September, so you still have several weeks to continue to come along for your regular produce. Our final Farmers Market will be at Morpeth this Saturday 1st August. Some of you will be wondering about your Christmas turkeys etc – we’ll shortly be putting some information together about other local suppliers with great quality poultry.
Once again, thank you all for a fantastic journey from the first Farmers Market 30+ years ago to now and we look forward to seeing many of you over the next few weeks.
