🧀 What a BRIE-lliant night at the Brick Club Quiz! 🧀

A huge well done to The Mighty Magpies, who proved they were the big cheese this week, taking home £35 before Derek showed he was no Muenster under pressure by correctly answering the Champions' Gamble and adding another £30 to the winnings! 👏

🥈 Football Brians were left feeling a little blue, finishing just half a point behind to claim 20 Open The Box Tickets. They'll probably be kicking themselves after getting the football question wrong! ⚽😂

🥉 The Tricky Trees picked up 10 Open The Box Tickets, while Norfolk 'n' Chance and Simple Minds each melted the competition to take home our Spot Prizes.

Every team had a crack at Play Your Cards Right, but it was Sandi behind the bar who finally cut the mustard... no, wrong buffet... and walked away with the shot and 10 Open The Box Tickets! 🍻

We welcomed 35 players across 8 teams, and the biggest surprise of the night was when cheeseboards appeared on every table! They were all part of our special Cheesy Celebrities picture round, featuring the likes of Brie Larson, Camembert Diaz, Edam Sandler and Monterey Jack Black. Judging by some of the answers though, a few teams must have had cheese in their ears when told what to do! 🤣

There was plenty of Gouda humour, a few cheddar laughs, and one or two answers that belonged in the halloumi of shame! 😅

Finally, Open The Box was hiding behind letter Z, but nobody managed to uncover it, meaning the jackpot has now matured to a tasty £600 for our next quiz in a fortnight! 💰

Before then, don't forget The Flames are performing live (and FREE) this Saturday night – a much feta way to spend your evening than watching the game nobody wants to see! 👀⚽️

Then Dave Adams' Buskers Night returns on Tuesday 21st, so don't be provolone at home...

🎬 LAST NIGHT’S QUIZ – TWO WINNERS, SEVEN PRIZE-WINNING TEAMS AND A BIT OF BOB HOLNESS CHAOS! 🎬

We had 44 players across 10 teams for last night’s quiz, and the Blockbusters teaser poster turned out to be the wrong kind of Blockbusters entirely… as I channelled my inner Bob Holness for a twist on the final Gambler Round.

In an effort to spread the glory around a bit more, we changed the prize format this week and crowned two quiz winners:

🏆 Dominator Winners
🏆 Challenger Winners

And it worked — seven of the ten teams won prizes!

For the Challengers, Norfolk N Chance took the win, claiming 20 Open The Box tickets and £22, with the option to risk it all on the Champions Question.

They took one look at the gamble… and took the money and ran. Sensible. 😂

For the Dominators, once again Football Brians came out on top, also winning 20 Open The Box tickets and £22, with the chance to gamble.

This time, they went for it.

The category was Film, Moff stepped up, openly admitted he had absolutely no clue… and then trusted his instincts.

They were spot on.

He got the answer right and more than doubled the £22 stake, winning £52 for the team. Outstanding work! 👏

🥈 Ben Out of Ten and The Mighty Magpies finished joint second, sharing 15 Open The Box tickets each.

Why Do We Bother?

I hope everyone wasn’t too confused by the new format. I do, at least theoretically, know what I’m doing… 😅

We skipped Play Your Cards Right and went straight into Open The Box after the quiz.

A good spread of numbers brought out three players, all of whom had their chance and missed. None selected U, which had the £400 jackpot hiding behind it.

That means next week…
