You can have it topped with a runny free range egg (sourced from Lancaster area), Cumbrian smoked bacon, or just as it comes.

Last week, on the 7th July, was a bit of a special day. It marks exactly two years that AJ has been working for me!

He joined Wrap Ninjas as a quiet and reserved 17 year old. In fact, it was his first job. To have seen him grow to a quietly confident young man of 19 has been a real privilege. In that time he’s become a key part of my team both with Wrap Ninjas and at Grow Kitchen

He’s an asset to both businesses.

AJ – Thank you for the huge amount of time, energy, work and commitment you’ve given my businesses over the last two years. Thank you for all the laughs, and for putting up with my grumpy stressed-out rants from time to time when I’ve been exhausted and burnt out. It’s fantastic to have you on my team.

AJ is currently keeping an open mind about the next stage of his life and career. Obviously I REALLY don’t want him to leave my business (!), but if you run a medium-to-large high-end food establishment and you get an application from this lad – you’d be foolish not to give him a chance. You’ll be hard-pushed to find someone his age with a better attitude and work ethic.

We're looking for someone to join our kitchen and back of house team.

We don't want just anyone. We're looking for someone who's passionate about food, enjoys cooking, has a little experience in a commercial setting and who wants to help give our guests a fantastic experience.

We're a small team, so everyone has to wash up from time to time, so you need to be happy pot washing as part of the shift. On some days you might spend just as much time washing up, cleaning, serving food to tables, etc as you spend prepping and cooking food. I'd rather be up front about that.

We'd love to find someone with excellent food safety and personal hygiene standards. Someone who has a positive perspective and a growth mindset - someone who's keen to learn and grow.

We do ask a lot, but we will also try and give you a genuinely great experience as part of the team. We want you to succeed and excel.

I'm finally at home having a end-of-weekend brew, reflecting on an exhausting but largely positive weekend.

Seeing you all enjoying the space in the evenings, hearing fantastic live music, serving street food from Wrap Ninjas Street Food - it was really lovely! It wasn't a overly busy weekend of trade, but I think we gained quite a lot of new visitors who loved the space, the food and the vibe.

Seeing the community coming together at Grow Kitchen continues to make me feel happy nd proud.

We're all exhausted though - some very long days worked, and some lessons learned for me on staff scheduling and how to prepare for evening events. Thank you to the team. 👍

Thank you to everyone who visited this week, and to the few peeps who shared great reviews online.
