🍽️ OUR LATEST MENU IS HERE — AND IT’S FISH FRIDAY! 🐟

There are some exciting new additions on the menu at The Kings Arms Inn, Montacute, alongside the pub classics you know and love.

One of our newest starters is Chalk Stream Trout with taramasalata, Granny Smith apple, caviar and tomato consommé — fresh, light and made with some fantastic British produce.

For mains, you’ll find dishes including new-season Wiltshire venison with venison pithivier, glazed carrot and pickled pear; pan-roasted pork tenderloin with slow-cooked collar, black pudding & potato terrine; and Brixham po***ck with Ch*****ne sauce and caviar.

And make sure you leave room for our newest dessert… 🍫🍊

Chocolate & Orange ‘Millionaire’ Tart
Crisp sweet pastry layered with caramel and rich chocolate, topped with a sharp orange jelly and served with our homemade crème fraîche ice cream.

👨‍🍳 WE’RE HIRING — EXPERIENCED CHEF DE PARTIE

Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our food offering, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at The Kings Arms Inn, Montacute.

We’re looking for someone who comes from a fresh-food background, takes pride in what they cook and wants to continue developing and progressing within the industry.

Our kitchen is focused on doing things properly. We work with quality British and seasonal produce, sourcing locally wherever possible, with stocks, sauces, terrines, pickles, desserts, ice creams and much more made from scratch in-house.

This would suit a chef who wants to be part of an ambitious kitchen where there’s an opportunity to learn, contribute ideas and develop, rather than simply turn up and cook the same menu every day.

What we’re looking for:

* Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or a strong Commis Chef ready to progress
* A solid fresh-food background
* Good organisation and attention to detail
* Reliability and a positive attitude
* Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking and wants to develop their skills
* Ability to work well as part of a small, committed kitchen team

We can offer a potential 4-day working week, with either a salary or hourly rate available for the right candidate, depending on experience and preferred working arrangement.

🍫🍊 NEW DESSERT ON THE MENU

Chocolate, caramel and orange — a combination that doesn’t need much introduction.

Caramel, Chocolate & Orange Tart
Crisp sweet pastry • velvety caramel • rich chocolate • tart orange glaze • crème fraîche ice cream

Made from scratch in our kitchen, the tart is built in layers: crisp buttery pastry, smooth caramel, rich chocolate and a sharp orange glaze to cut through the sweetness.

Finished with our homemade crème fraîche ice cream for a little freshness and acidity.

A proper autumn dessert and our newest addition to the menu at The Kings Arms Inn, Montacute.

Beautiful chalk stream trout, simply cooked and served with creamy taramasalata, the freshness and acidity of Granny Smith apple, finished with a light, intensely flavoured tomato consommé.

A clean, fresh dish that lets a fantastic British ingredient do the talking.

As always, it’s about great produce, careful cooking and making as much as we can here in our own kitchen.

Dinner at The Kings Arms this evening ✨

Looking for somewhere to eat tonight? We still have tables available for dinner this evening here in Montacute.

Our kitchen brings together restaurant-quality cooking with the warmth and relaxed atmosphere of a village pub — using local and seasonal produce and making as much as possible from scratch.

Tonight’s menu includes new season Wiltshire venison with handmade venison pithivier, pan-roasted pork tenderloin with 18-hour slow-cooked pork collar, Brixham po***ck with caviar & Ch*****ne sauce, and free-range chicken with celeriac, leek & Montacute blackberries.

🎃🎄 A Few Dates for Your Diary at The Kings Arms! 🎄🎃

We’ve got lots happening over the next few months, with plenty of reasons to join us in Montacute!

🎃 HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA – SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER
Join us throughout the day for lunch, dinner or drinks, with our Halloween celebrations getting into full swing from 6pm! 👻

We’ll have spooky kids’ favourite food, Halloween colouring, special Halloween cocktails for the grown-ups, and a special treat for the scariest costume of the evening! 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️

You don’t have to wait until the evening though — we’ll be serving lunch as normal, so come and enjoy some great food and a little Halloween atmosphere with us during the day too.

🎄 CHRISTMAS FÊTE – SATURDAY 5TH DECEMBER FROM 12PM
Our Christmas Fête is coming to The Kings Arms! 🎅

We have limited stall spaces available, so if you’d like to have a stall, please get in touch soon. Stalls are just £5 each, with the money being donated to a local charity. ❤️

We’ll also be serving our own mulled w**e, mulled c***r and homemade mince pies to get everyone properly into the Christmas spirit! 🍷🥧

One of our favourite nights of the year! We had nearly 100 people join us last year, and it was an absolutely brilliant evening.

Christmas Eve is always a lovely day at The Kings Arms, with everyone getting together and enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Joining our à la carte menu from this evening is a new dish celebrating some proper autumn flavours…

Roasted Pork Loin
Slow-cooked pork collar • black pudding & potato terrine • pickled mustard • warm celeriac remoulade • apple sauce • crisp crackling

Tender roasted pork loin alongside rich, slow-cooked collar, with a golden black pudding & potato terrine, the freshness of apple and celeriac, a little sharpness from the pickled mustard and, of course, proper crispy crackling.

A comforting combination of classic flavours, given our Kings Arms touch. 🍂
