Tonight is the last service of
Rustica
in Church Street.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin.
This tiny 14-seat restaurant started as an idea… almost as a takeaway… and somehow became one of the most important parts of my life.
Inside these walls I felt everything:
fear, stress, exhaustion, happiness, pressure, pride, doubt, hope… and moments I will never forget.
There were weeks where I genuinely thought we wouldn’t survive.
Times where there was almost nothing left in the bank account.
Days where I questioned everything.
But this little place kept fighting back.
In less than a year, Rustica gave me more than I could ever imagine:
incredible customers, unforgettable memories, new friendships, recognition, and even the honour of winning Best Italian Restaurant in Wales.
That still feels unreal to say.
This restaurant was never just a business to me.
It became part of me.
To every single person who walked through that door:
thank you.
Whether you came once or twenty times, you helped build this story.
Tomorrow the lights will be off, the tables will be empty, and only the red Rustica sign will remain outside.
But what happened inside this little restaurant will stay with me forever.
This is not goodbye.
It’s simply the end of one unforgettable chapter.
See you very soon,
Mirko
