Statement from the Mayor of Monmouth on Immediate Support Following This Morning’s Flooding

As Mayor of Monmouth, I want to express my concern for everyone affected by the flooding that struck our town just a few hours ago. I know how sudden and unsettling this has been, and I want to reassure residents that support is available and needs constantly assessed.

Monmouthshire County Council teams are on the ground now, assessing damage and offering practical help. If you need urgent assistance or have had to leave your home, please contact MCC so they can coordinate welfare checks and immediate support. Monmouth Leisure Centre and the Methodist Church have both opened their doors as warm, safe spaces for anyone needing shelter, a hot drink, or simply somewhere calm to wait while the situation unfolds.

Having been taken over for a fortnight by a film crew has made all this rather complicated and rushed but here goes.
Things are changing here at Scone HQ. Mainly that we are closing the doors to our beautiful dinning room and moving Scone HQ entirely. After 6 years of experimenting and building a name for ourselves, we have decided to take the business in a new direction. It is with great sadness that we close the cafe but rest assured the scones are not gone forever.
We are leaving this incredible place in the hands of a wonderful couple who hold the same vision and values as us, and we really hope you show them some of the love you have shown us for the last 6 years.

Technical it's tomorrow but we're celebrating today.
6 whole years, how did that even happen?!
I know we've been a bit flaky over the last month or two but there has been a lot going on behind the scenes here at Scone HQ. Some changes are coming but for now, we would like to thank all of you for getting us to this amazing milestone. Without your support we would never have made it this far and for that we are incredibly grateful.

Finally got my hands on a copy. It's only a little piece but we made it into traveller magazine!
We are so proud of everything we've achieved here. Its the hardest thing we've ever done and we've sacrificed a lot to get to where we are so any recognition is gratefully received!!
Congrats to the others from our gorgeous little town who featured alongside us

Unfortunately we have been forced to close early today. Dwr Cymru Welsh Water decided to switch off our water supply, with no warning, mid service. Whilst our water is now back on, the shut off has damaged some of our vital equipment. Excellent treatment of local, INDEPENDENT business......
