CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT – SUPPORTING 8TH MIRFIELD SCOUTS

This Saturday we’re proud to be hosting a special Charity Quiz Night in support of 8th Mirfield Scouts.

The evening has been organised by Mayor of Mirfield, Sean Guy, who has chosen 8th Mirfield Scouts as his charity for his year in office. It’s a brilliant local cause that has had a huge impact on so many young people in our community.

The event is especially close to our hearts at the OC. Our landlady Katie attended 8th Mirfield Scouts herself and later returned as a volunteer leader, only stepping down when she took over the OC last year. We’re incredibly proud to be hosting this fundraiser and helping support a group that has meant so much to her.

Just a quick thank you to everyone who came down to the OC last night.

It wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but the atmosphere in the pub was fantastic. Friendly, respectful and full of people enjoying the game together. That’s what the OC is all about.

Thank you all for your continued support. We genuinely appreciate every one of you. It’s people like you that make the OC what it is.

Two new beers are now pouring on the handpulls at The OC.

Brightside Blonde from Stancill Brewery is a light and easy-drinking 4.3% blonde ale.

Alongside it, Dark Cherry from Craven Brew Co is a rich 4.8% cherry ale with a deeper, fruitier finish.

Two very different pints and both well worth a try. Get yourselves down before they’re gone.

🇪🇸 VAMOS SUNDAY AT THE OC! 🇪🇸

England are out of the World Cup, so after a brief period of mourning, we’ve made the mature and completely reasonable decision to become Spanish.

For one day only, obviously.

This Sunday we’ll be backing Spain in the World Cup Final against Argentina and making a full day of it at The OC.

🔥 Ember & Feasta Street Food BBQ from 3:30pm Ember & Feast
🎤 Kerry Ana live outside from 4pm
⚽ Spain v Argentina on the big screen at 8pm

Red and yellow clothing encouraged.

No Spanish family history required. Just turn up, shout VAMOS every now and then and act like this was always the plan.

Football might not be coming home, but hopefully it’s going on holiday to Spain.

Tonight’s street food vendor has been caught in traffic, so food service has been delayed until around 7pm.

They’re still on their way and should be serving in plenty of time for the football. If we receive any further updates, we’ll let you know.

We will have street food running from the Kitchen for 6pm.

£3.50 per pint of Budweiser or selected Real Ales until the first goal from 7pm
