I'M THE NEW LANDLORD OF THE AIREDALE HEIFER! 🍻
Hi, I’d like to introduce myself and my family and say a huge hello to everyone in Mirfield!
We know the Airedale has had its fair share of owners over the years, so we completely understand that some people may be wondering what this new chapter will bring. All we can say is that we’re committed to creating a pub the whole community can be proud of.
Mirfield has always been home to me. I grew up on Stocksbank Road, went to Battyeford First and Middle Schools and Mirfield High School, spent many years playing football for Battyeford Boys Club (now Battyeford Sporting Club), was a Battyeford Cub and Scout, and was also a former member of Christ the King Church choir. The town has given me so many memories, and now it’s my turn to give something back.
I’ve always believed the Airedale has the potential to become a real hub for the community. Our vision is to create something fresh and exciting for Mirfield while keeping that warm, welcoming local pub atmosphere that everyone loves.
Recently, I suddenly lost my brother Lawrence (Loz) and it completely changed my outlook on life. It made me realise that life is far too short to keep putting dreams on hold. Owning a pub has always been a dream of mine and I’ve decided now is the time to make it happen. One thing I’ve learned is that you’re never too old to chase your dreams.
We’re also really excited to be joining Mirfield’s fantastic hospitality community. We look forward to working alongside the other local pubs and businesses to help make Mirfield an even better place to live, visit and socialise. There’s room for everyone, and we’re proud to be part of it.
Whether you’re an old school friend, someone I played football with, or you’ve simply enjoyed the Airedale over the years, we’d love you to pop in and say hello. It’ll be great to see some familiar faces and meet plenty of new ones too.
Thank you for all the support already – it genuinely means the world to us. We can’t wait to welcome you all and begin this exciting new chapter together.
