Cambridge junior parkrun

Cambridge junior parkrun junior parkrun is a series of 2km runs for children aged between 4 and 14. Cambridge junior parkrun is held at Milton Country Park every Sunday at 9am.

They are held in areas of open space around the UK. They are open to all, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. We are very friendly and want runners or walkers of all abilities to come and join us. Sign up online just once to get your barcode and bring it every week. We meet by the cafe just before 9am and finish up with tea and cakes!

A great run this morning with 128 finishers, as well as all the adults coming along for fun and exercise. Special shout out to Alex who completed his 50th volunteering today, recently he's been the main man cooling you all down with his water sprays.

Of the 128 finishers, we had 30 PB's and welcomed 3 first timers Samson, Lev and Massimo who we hope to see again. First finishers were Mikhail and Laura and the highest age grade % went to Calvin with 71.67%. 31 people gave up their time to support us with their volunteering so many thanks.

We'll do it all again next week.

Much better temperatures this morning saw 112 young people plus running adults make their way around our course. We had 16 first ever parkrun runners so we hope you all had a great time and that we see you again soon.

Well done to Mikhail and Laura for being both the first male and female finishers plus they also got the highest age grade %s as well, awesome work to you both. In total we had 19 PB's and an amazing 37 volunteers, thank you all.

We'll be back next week for more fun exercising in the park.

Firstly as you may have heard this morning we're trying to raise some funds for our event, to buy a PA system and also for our ongoing costs. The orange donate button at the top does donate to parkrun central which is great but doesn't help us fundraise.

All parkruns and junior parkruns remain free to all so no worries if you want to skip to today's results...

Anyway this morning's run, it was a warm one and a great effort by the 121 young people who finished along with all the adults that also ran with them. Somehow we had 24 PBs which is awesome and we were delighted to welcome 10 new faces to our course, we hope you all had fun and that we see you again.

A big number of volunteers once again with 34 donning the hi-vis vests and congratulations Marie on your 25 volunteering events. We are so grateful for all those that put their hand up to help each week, thank you.

Thank you to all those that took part today or at any of our previous 499 events, we cannot do it without our amazing volunteers so thank you.

Things you don't often see on a Sunday morning at Milton Country Park...a shark 🦈, a crocodile 🐊, dinosaurs 🦖🦕, a viking, Hermione's, Wednesday's, rockers and countless others that my mind has missed out. THANK YOU all for your efforts sharing in our fun to celebrate event 500!

We had 151 finishers, 8 first timers that may think junior parkrun is nuts, it is but in a great way. Well done for the 36 of you that ran a pb, and for 35 volunteers today you are awesome
