Saigon Lotus’s Highlights & Special Moments – Looking Back on an Incredible Year
As we look back on the past year, our hearts are filled with gratitude.
What began as a dream has grown into something far greater than a restaurant. Inspired by the timeless charm of Hội An, Saigon Lotus is a cosy, lantern-lit Vietnamese Cultural House adorned with traditional rattan décor, nestled within a beautiful historic building designed by the renowned architect Edgar Wood. More than a place to dine, it is a welcoming space where authentic Vietnamese cuisine, culture, kindness, learning, and community come together under one roof—bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together through shared experiences, meaningful connections, and the true spirit of Vietnamese hospitality.
Over the past year, we have been incredibly honoured to:
🌿 Welcome wonderful guests from the UK and around the world, many discovering authentic Vietnamese cuisine for the very first time.
🍜 Share the true flavours of Vietnam through our family recipes, freshly prepared dishes, traditional Vietnamese street food, Vietnamese coffee, and our signature Egg Coffee.
❤️ Host community events, charity fundraisers, cultural celebrations, cooking classes, children’s workshops, leadership programmes, and volunteer initiatives that have brought people together through kindness and friendship.
🎨 Celebrate Vietnamese heritage through traditional arts, crafts, music, lanterns, storytelling, and cultural experiences.
📚 Inspire young people through life skills, emotional intelligence, growth mindset, public speaking, volunteering, and community leadership programmes.
🌍 Welcome visitors from many different countries, creating friendships that cross cultures and generations.
🎥 Receive the honour of being featured by Vietnam Television (VTV), national Vietnamese media, Vietnam Today, Visit Rochdale, Manchester Finest, helping share our mission of building a bridge between Vietnam and the UK through culture, food, and community.
🏛️ Continue our journey in our beautiful 117-year-old heritage building, transforming it into a warm and welcoming Vietnam–UK Cultural House where everyone feels at home.
Above all, we have been blessed by the incredible kindness of our customers, volunteers, local community, friends, families, and supporters. Every smile, every conversation, every shared meal, every review, and every word of encouragement has helped shape who we are today.
None of this would have been possible without you.
Thank you for believing in our vision, supporting our journey, and allowing us to share a little piece of Hội An, Vietnam with Manchester and beyond.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to preserving Vietnamese culture, serving authentic and nourishing food, creating meaningful opportunities for young people, and building a community where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and inspired.
Here’s to another year of friendship, learning, kindness, culture, and unforgettable memories.
With heartfelt gratitude,
