Today we are hosting the fabulous Tingley Brass Band from 2-4pm from the Performance Area Bandstand. This fabulous local brass band will be playing a range of popular tunes for you to enjoy (and tap your toes to). Bring a chair if you can as we don't have that many to go around.

Morning. Just a reminder that there is a band on in the park, this afternoon. Please see Friends of Middleton Park page for details.

Unfortunately, next weekend, the cafe will be closed. Friends will be hosting and activity in the park on Sunday, from approximately 12 till 4 and so will open the visitors centre for the toilets from approx 10 till 4.
Bearing in mind, unless something can be arranged in time, the toilets may not be open on Saturday or before and after the friend activity on Sunday.

There will be a coffee etc, van in the park during the Sunday event.
The bowling club will also be open for refreshments.

Sorry for the inconvenience and we will be open as usual the following weekend. Thanks

🎺 This Sunday 28th June 2 - 4pm we have South Leeds Community Band coming to entertain us in the performance area. Part of our summer programme, this is a free event as usual, so everyone is invited. The cafe will be open for refreshments, including ice cream..

🎷 South Leeds Community Band is Middleton’s local brass band, holding their rehearsals on alternate Saturday mornings in St Cross Church Hall. They have been invited to Middleton Park before but been thwarted by the rain. This time it looks as though sun hats and long sleeves will be the order of the day to protect against the heat.

🥁 Band Leader Dave Ellis says, “I love heading up this group of great individuals! Some young, some old. Some shy, some confident. Some been playing for years, others just learning. Together we are encouraging each other to make a great sound whilst having fun as we do it.

🪊 We play all-sorts of stuff together from Ravel’s Bolero & Glenn Miller, to Bohemian Rhapsody & Sweet Caroline. Items from Musicals like Hairspray & Riverdance, Movies like Mary Poppins & Shrek, and music from new artists like Billie Eilish & George Ezra. We have over 80 pieces of music we can have a crack at.

❤️ So please come and enjoy the music in Middleton Park this Sunday 2 - 4pm!

Happy Easter.
