The barley is grown on 10 local farms in the Scottish Borders, the water comes from beneath the distillery, and the spirit is made in Hawick.

Then we give it time.

Did you know that the Tweed Catchment is actually bigger than the Cairngorms National Park? 🌊

At around 5,000 square kilometres covering much of the Scottish Borders and extending into Northumberland, the River Tweed catchment is roughly 10% bigger than the Cairngorms National Park, and is one of the UK's largest river catchments.

From its source high in the Southern Uplands near Tweedsmuir, the River Tweed itself travels 156 km (97 miles) to the North Sea at Berwick-upon-Tweed, gathering the waters of tributaries including the Teviot, Ettrick, Yarrow, Whiteadder, Blackadder and Till along the way.

Borders Music Festival opens tomorrow with ten days of choral, folk, jazz, orchestral, brass and opera performances across the Scottish Borders.

Start planning your weekend now: Jazz on opening night, Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday 12 September and brass-band music with the SBBBA Youth Band and Jedforest Brass Band on Sunday 13 September are both ready to book.

"Best steak in the world!
Service before arriving was really helpful to reserve the right room, which was smart and comfortable. The garden at the back was lovely in the sunshine. We ate in the bar brasserie and the food was absolutely outstanding! One of the best meals we have ever had. The steak was simply sublime, best ever,and I’ve tried lots of posh steak restaurants around the world. I’d go back just for the meal, compliments to the chef, and Melrose is a lovely little Borders town to walk around and get some history too." Guest Review, Aug'26
