Another evening of musical magic awaits as we welcome the wonderful to perform an enchanting evening of Lute music from the gardens of 17th century England, on Wednesday June 29th 6:30 - 8:30pm

A sought after continuo player, Sergio is the principal lutenist of The English Concert and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He also plays with Les Arts Florissants, Pygmalion, Arcangelo and Le Poeme Harmonique among others. Sergio is often a guest musician for the Royal Opera House, Opera National de Paris and Opera North. A keen chamber musician, he often collaborates as a duo with Lawrence Power and various singers including Iestyn Davies, Ruby Hughes, Hugh Cutting and Tim Mead.

So excited to welcome our July Artist in Residence, the wonderful Vienna Huffman of Eldr. Studios, celebrating the beauty of slow crafts. Rooted in nature, historical & folk design, her work captures glimmers of inspiration from the everyday. Through the month her exhibition will evolve as she forages & creates new designs inspired by the garden and the surrounding historic Mells village.

Join us in our beautiful garden for an afternoon of Flower Pressing, Calligraphy and cream teas!

The 3 hour workshop, run by local designer/ maker Vienna Huffman of Eldr. Studios (also our July Artist in Residence), will be a hands-on introduction to Flower Pressing & Modern Calligraphy where you can learn, practice and play, and come away with a pressed flower, hand lettered card and some new tools to start creating at home.

What will also be included:

• Private Garden Tour
• Cream tea break & refreshments
• Pocket Flower Press
• Calligraphy Pen & Nib
• Pressed Flower Card

The workshop is open to everyone, no previous or creative experience necessary! It will be a very relaxed creative afternoon, where hopefully you will take away some new skills to inspire you at home in your own gardens.

It will run from 1pm to 4pm but the gardens will be open until 5pm, so you can explore the garden, Artist in Residency exhibition, plant nursery and shed shop in your own time after.
