BBQ Sunday, live football followed by live music on the terrace

🔥 Our Sunday BBQs are back from this Sunday! 🔥
The wait is over! Join us as we fire up the BBQ once again for an afternoon of fantastic food, refreshing drinks, and great company on our terrace overlooking Aldbourne's beautiful village green.
We'll be serving premium BBQ favourites using locally sourced meats from Sumblers of Aldbourne, along with delicious vegetarian options.
And why not make a day of it? 🎶 From 4pm, sit back and relax as the wonderful Francesca provides the perfect soundtrack with her chilled live vocals on the terrace.

Then stick around after the final whistle as Nell Pates takes to our terrace with live music, overlooking the beautiful Aldbourne village green. 🎶☀️

There’s a connection here that will always mean a great deal to me.
The brave men of Easy Company, 506th PIR fought in Operation Market Garden, while at the same time my grandad, Sergeant Horace “Lofty” Marriott, was serving with the 1st Airlanding Light Regiment, Royal Artillery, 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem.
Grandad is mentioned several times in the fantastic book Arnhem Bridge, Target Mike One. One account describes him as “a great Sergeant and a good mate.” He was killed in action on 25th September 1944, during the final day of the battle.
A huge thank you to the Airborne Forces Riders Branch for visiting The Blue Boar today. Seeing all the memorabilia gave me the perfect excuse to get the book back out and spend a little time remembering Grandad and the incredible men who fought alongside him.
It makes the military history we celebrate here at The Blue Boar feel that little bit more personal. 🇬🇧

After the success of our last comedy night, we’ve managed to nail down the brilliant Paul McCaffrey for another evening of laughs at The Blue Boar!
Paul will be joining us on Sunday 30th August from 6.30pm, and if our last comedy night is anything to go by, this is going to be another cracking evening.
Tickets are £15 each and will be strictly limited. They’ll go live via our online ticket link from 9am this Friday morning.
Please note, no tickets will be available from our bar staff, online booking only.
