IT’S NOT THAT WE DON’T LIKE FOOTBALL…

We just think a good dinner deserves a place in Saturday evening’s plans too.

As the football gets underway at 5pm this Saturday, our new main menu launches at The Shoulder of Mutton. If you’d rather swap the match for a relaxed meal, come and join us.

To celebrate, enjoy 10% off food from the new menu from 5pm on Saturday. The only difficult decision might be whether to have rump, ribeye or sirloin.

STEAK NIGHT IS BACK TOMORROW!

These are real plates from last Wednesday at The Shoulder of Mutton — and we’re doing it all again tomorrow evening.

Two 12oz steak meals for £36, with your choice of rump, sirloin or ribeye from Joseph Morris Butchers. Cooked to your liking and served with chunky chips, tomato and mushroom.

🥩 DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE ORIGINAL GLOOSTON STEAK NIGHT?

10 years ago, Rebecca’s brother Cam opened The Old Barn in Glooston and started what became one of the area’s most popular Wednesday traditions.
The original steak night was copied by many pubs - but rarely equalled.
Now it’s coming back to The Shoulder of Mutton, Great Bowden.

This is proper steak night: a generous 12oz steak from Joseph Morris Butchers, cooked to your liking and served with chunky chips, tomato and mushroom.
No tiny steak hidden among mountains of chips and onion rings. No unnecessary sauces or fancy salad. Just a high-quality steak as the main event.

Two 12 oz steak meals for £36
Choose from:
• Rump
• Sirloin
• Ribeye
Served Wednesday’s from 7.00pm–9.30pm.
Booking is absolutely essential. Please state your preferred cut when booking so we can make sure you are not disappointed.

The Shoulder of Mutton has recently reopened under new management, and we’re looking for friendly, confident and enthusiastic people to join our bar team.

We’re looking for people who:

Enjoy meeting and chatting with customers
Are confident, outgoing and well-presented
Can create a warm, welcoming atmosphere
Work well in a busy pub environment
Are reliable and available for evening and weekend shifts

Have previous bar or hospitality experience — although training can be provided for the right person

The role will involve serving drinks and food, taking orders, keeping the bar area clean and helping make sure customers have a great experience.

We’re particularly looking for people with real personality and energy who enjoy being the face of a lively village pub.

Competitive hourly rate, staff benefits and flexible shifts available.
