It’s our LAST week 😢

We will be open tomorrow and Thursday 10-5pm and Friday 10-10pm!

Our LAST EVER SERVICE is on Friday night. We’ll be serving up all the hits, classics, favourites and more.

Why not snap up a piece of Barletta history with a tea towel featuring the wonderful mural. They’ll be for sale all week on the counter!

We’ve had an overwhelming amount of messages from friends and family following our news. Many of you who have donated have offered to allow us to keep the money raised to go towards any closing costs. That is beyond kind. We will still be making a donation to as there are so many restaurants and hospitality professionals feeling the pressure we face as an industry right now, and we will be closing down the donation page on Sunday.

We have to take another moment to thank for being so supportive and wonderful through this. You are a real positive advocate for our industry and we’re so grateful for your kindness and strength.

Please come and see us for our FINAL weekend. Sunday will be our LAST Sunday roast service. Bookings can be made via the link in our bio, or pop into the restaurant to see us.

A bit of news from us...

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Barletta will be closing its doors. The impact of fraudulent activity on our bank account, compounded by the increase in energy bills and cost of living crisis has made it impossible for us to carry on. This was not the outcome we were hoping for, but it is the one we must make.

Our last day of trading will be Friday 9th December. In the lead up to our final day we will cook off all the hits (yes, those carrots) and end with one last dinner to say farewell.

Barletta has given us such an adventure. From Dreamland to Urchin Wines, Barletta on the roof to the Rose in June. We hope you will come and celebrate these last few years of Barletta. We cannot thank enough our loyal guests, Turner Contemporary, our incredible team over the years - you know who you are and we would be nothing without you, and as always, the town of Margate for making us feel so loved.

Lastly, to everyone who donated to help keep us afloat, a refund can be requested at any time. Any remaining funds will be donated to Hospitality Action, who supports hospitality businesses facing challenging times.

We have been absolutely blown away by the outpouring of kindness, advice and donations regarding the recent fraud that took place on our business bank account. The power of community has always been at the heart of Margate, and it’s what has catapulted Barletta from venue to venue and sustained us through a pandemic.

It is what is getting us through this very challenging time too. The amount of support we have felt from all of you is immense. In a time when there doesn’t feel like a lot of light, your generosity has brought us so much joy.

A few weeks ago we were victims of fraud that took £50k from our account and has totally crippled us. After many many many pleas and complaints to the banks, it seems we will not be able to recuperate the funds. We have worked tirelessly to build our little business and we love Margate. We love the community that supports its independent shops and restaurants and right now we need your help to survive this mess.

If we don’t, we could lose Barletta 😢

We’re asking for your help to share this post, donate what you can, give us a hug - whatever you can do to help us power through this awful time. We want to keep cooking you delicious food and keep our team in their jobs!

This week we move into our winter hours and will now be closed on both Monday & Tuesday.

You can join us for coffee, cake and lunch every Wednesday and Thursday. And both lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday. Our Sunday lunch is served 12-4pm every weekend.

We realise the scaffolding is giving off the impression that we are closed, but we are very much still here cooking up a storm for you and yours.

Our next instalment of DESERT ISLAND DISHES is next week. We’re joined by singer and supperclub host 🥳 Her menu takes inspiration from her childhood in Jamaica all the way to her favourite London haunts. This is an entirely vegetarian menu and has been written with Denai’s food memories and personal approach to life in mind.

We will kick off the evening with cocktails before we sit down for a feast of dim sum and noodles, plus an interview with Denai about her past, her present and her future.

Speaking to Denai was particularly grounding and we are so excited to have her with us next week for this one off event at Barletta.

We’re mourning the loss of the Queen with some comfort food today. Pop in and see us for lunch between 12-3.30pm. We will sadly be closed for dinner service this evening, back open as usual tomorrow 10-10pm!

We may have some hideous scaffold obstructing the entrance, but we’re very much still OPEN!

We will continue to operate as normal until Sunday 25th September, which is the last day of the current Ingrid Pollard exhibition.

Watch this space for our opening hours during the gallery changeover. In the meantime pop in and see us for lunch, dinner or a quick cake and a coffee.
