The days are getting longer, and honestly, the battle keeps getting harder. But even with Mill Place’s doors temporarily closed, our spirit hasn’t shifted. We are staying strong in the face of this adversity, fuelled by the memories we’ve made and the ones we have yet to create. Hang in there—we will see you all again soon. 🖤✨

Safety First at Mill Place. 🛡️

We’ve had so many kind messages asking when we are back open. ❤️

We want to be back more than anything, but this is our current “staff uniform.”🪖

Two weeks ago, a major leak from above saturated our 15mm fire-rated ceiling. 💦

Because it’s on a metal grid system and has been wet for 14 days, the risk of a structural collapse is real. As much as we miss our customers, we will never prioritize profit over your safety or the safety of our team.

We are currently waiting for the Managing Agents - Miles and Barr and Freeholder to move beyond “patch repairs” and provide a professional, safe solution. Until then, the hard hats stay on, and the doors stay closed. ⛔️

This was the last day we got to change our wall calendar in our beloved shop

Lewis returned on this day after travelling around the world to Australia to collect his mother, who now sits in her box on the mantel piece.

Then came the flood from up above and we closed the shop whilst we waited for our management agent to sort out the remedial works

It’s been 14 days and we still have no progress in a date to reopen from our agent, Miles and Barr.

And so we wait…

Still no news about the remedial work and reopening.
We have been disposing of mountains of food.

Day 11. We are still no further with the remedial works and so no news on the opening date. We are in the hands of our management agent Miles and Barr of Cecil Square, Margate.
