🍦 We’re Hiring! Summer’s here and we need some brilliant people to join our crew. Whether you’re a natural with people or just love the idea of making ice cream all day — we’ve got a role for you.

Customer Experience Host (aka the face of the swirl). You’ll be taking orders, spreading good vibes, and keeping things running smoothly when the queues get lively. You’re comfortable talking to people, quick on your feet, and you don’t mind a busy afternoon. A job or two under your belt is ideal, but if you’ve got the confidence and personality, we want to hear from you.

Swirler (aka the artist🧑‍🎨)
This is the one where you get to make the magic happen. We’ll teach you everything — no experience needed. Perfect for a first or second job, with shifts that can work around school and over holidays.

📅 Now until end of September
⏰ 8–20 hours per week
🗓 Weekends, afternoons/evenings & school holiday periods

April in a nut shell: we are stoked to be BACK Swirling for you!🍦☀️

We came out of hibernation just as the first berries were being pollinated in Kent, got our first taste of Seven Score asparagus and watched the poppies pop on the very last day of the month!

The sun showed up big this April and honestly, so did you lot - thank you!

We love that we’re still introducing so many people to Real Fruit Ice Cream for the first time — watching people’s eyes light up is genuinely the best part of this job.

There’s Big(!) April energy on the team front too — welcome to Gabe our new Shop Manager 🙌🙌. It was great to have Irene & Charlie back for Easter before uni dragged them away again, and Amelia is back for year two woohoo. You will see a bit more of that Steve around too!

We’ve had visitors from all over — fellow Kiwis ordering mixed berry had me feeling like I was back in NZ for a sec 🇳🇿 — and one very excited customer literally ran in and hugged our Irene with excitement about the new ice cream season. That’s the Margate magic right there.

Oh, and the shop got a glow-up: two new benches outside, a fresh counter inside and we ditched the giant fridge to make way for the slushy machine! I didn’t used to get quite as excited by these small things, but by crikey I do now😂 😅

May: we are coming for you… a new flavour drop we haven’t shared before, Indian mangoes are just coming into season and a very moreish sundae is coming your way!

🌈Conditions: A little too excited to be back, ice cream machines ON, two brand new benches, a new bar we still can’t agree how to finish, and the dream team reunited & ready to swirl 🌀

🌡️Temperature: Swirl-worthy. High of absolutely delicious. Low of zero excuses.

🌅Skies: Sunny with a silver lining ☁️ and a 100% chance of real fruit ice cream 🫐🍓🍦

💨Wind: Present. Hair will end up in the ice cream. But it’s not enough to stop you. 🌬️

That’s right folks we will be back in action at Easter and we need a couple of team members.

Are you looking for a great summer job?
🌀creating wonderful experiences for our customers
🌀sharing the RFI love - whether people are discovering for the first time or are fiendishly waiting for the next fruit flavour drop
🌀working with a bunch of great people, swirling ice creams and being key taste testers for new flavours.

We have a couple of roles for swirling assistants.
Part-time, 8-20 hours per week, weekend work is essential for the role.

Who tried the cheese lovers V day special at Little Swift. Charlotte loves every excuse to get the cheese trolley out but even more so to make fun ice cream flavours! She delivered alright. By way of PARMESAN ICE CREAM. Let’s just say it was more-ish, less cheesy and more creamy - and well, Parmesany. Dunk in an EVOO & toasted pumpkin brittle and you’re away laughing.

Perhaps we can talk her into featuring it again sometime soon….

Steve and I popped back to my other homeland, New Zealand, last month. Mostly to catch up with the fam… but, in the name of very serious “research,” we also dedicated a fair bit of time to sampling seasonal Real Fruit Ice Cream (plus the odd Hokey Pokey scoop, of course).

🍦🫐NZ is the home of Real Fruit Ice Cream, and we were more than happy to see what the start of summer had on offer. 🍦🍓

🍒🍑 Cherries and apricots were just starting to ripen in Cromwell, so they weren’t quite at their peak yet — but crikey, if you can get your hands on fruit from Central Otago between December and Feb, you won’t taste better. Absolute stunners.

🥝🫐 We also visited my 95-year-old Grandad in the Bay of Plenty, where we saw kiwifruit ripening on the vines and discovered blueberries from Mamaku — perfectly sweet with that bright little pop of acidity. Kiwi turned out to be an unexpected RFI hero, and bloobs? Just a classic.

So now we are back we better stop day dreaming of Kiwi Summer and see what Margate and the fruit bowl of England has in store for us from April. Watch this space….
