👀 A dog has been rescued from an inflatable kayak after it was carried out into the open water, sparking a major rescue operation.

The black Alsatian, named Bruce, was floating alone on the vessel in the North Sea after the wind blew the kayak away from his owner.

His owner called the Coastguard. RNLI volunteers and the Seahouses Coastguard Team launched a search alongside local fishing boats and tour operators.

After landing their passengers safely on the island, crew members for Serenity Farne Islands Tours joined what they described as a challenging search effort to track down the missing dog.

They eventually managed to spot Bruce and rescue him after he fell into the sea.

The crew wrapped the Alsatian in towels because he was cold, exhausted, and suffering from shock.

Bruce has now returned home safe and well following the rescue. 🐕
