Why do cakes with fondant models cost so much more?

🐾Some fondant models & decorations are extremely time consuming to make by hand.
🐾These models took almost half the time of the total time to make the cake.
🐾If a cake features well known characters, they have to be spot on as they are so familiar & loved. These tiny details take time to get right.
🐾Fondant decorations require specialist tools, moulds, cutters, and equipment.
🐾Complex models require internal supports and careful engineering to remain stable.
🐾Mistakes are difficult and time-consuming to correct, requiring a high level of precision.

Even if you’re “just after a small cake”, if handmade fondant models are involved it’s going to be more expensive. You’re paying for time, skill, patience & experience ✨
