Across multiple market organisers, the same problem keeps repeating: the same traders are promoted over and over again β€” every week, every month, even across different markets.

Many of us book 8–10 events a month and pay the same pitch fees as everyone else. Photos are taken of our stalls, yet they rarely get posted. Instead, organisers continuously reuse the same traders’ photos, while the rest of us are left completely unseen.

What makes it worse is the attitude. Too often, organisers speak to traders as if they own us β€” as if paying a pitch fee means surrendering respect. The tone can feel controlling, dismissive, and at times demeaning.

What seems to be forgotten is this: traders are the market. We are the ones who promote events, bring customers out, engage with the public, and create the atmosphere that keeps markets alive. Without traders, there is no market to promote in the first place.

If traders are paying equally, then promotion, visibility, and basic respect should be shared equally too β€” not reserved for a select few.

I’m asking honestly:
β€’ Are others experiencing this?
β€’ Do you feel promotion is fair?
β€’ And do you feel respected as a business owner?

Let’s have this conversation β€” because it affects all of us.

By the way enjoy our very own song created only to promote ourselves! 😍
