Tyler has his practical exam coming up at college, where he’ll be completing the final assessment of his apprenticeship — and for his exam, he has to create and deliver his own dishes.

So… we thought, why not let you lot be the judges first?! 😜

This week’s specials are Tyler’s very own creations — dishes he’ll be delivering as part of his assessment.

Another one of our absolute stars of the team! ❤️

Aimee is one of our top waitresses and bar girls — always happy, always smiling and somehow managing to keep us all smiling too! 😁🍻

But sadly for us, Aimee is heading back to university this week 🎓📚

We’re going to miss her loads around the Hare & Hounds, but we’re so proud of her and wish her all the luck in the world for the year ahead. ❤️

And before anyone gets too emotional… 😂

🚨 THE GREAT HARE & HOUNDS SUNDAY ROAST DEBATE 🚨

We were peacefully getting ready for Sunday service…

Then someone asked:

“What actually makes a Sunday roast… a SUNDAY roast?”

And quite frankly, we’ve lost control. 😂

So we’re putting this to the people of Middleton…

🥔 ROAST POTATOES — crispy enough to break a tooth or soft enough to require a spoon?

🥩 THE MEAT — centre of attention or just an excuse to eat more gravy?

🥣 GRAVY — a sauce… or basically a food group?

🥕 VEGETABLES — essential part of the roast or decorative obstacles?

🧀 CAULIFLOWER CHEESE — side dish or the actual reason you came?

👑 YORKSHIRE PUDDING — one is acceptable… or should the plate basically be 90% Yorkshire pudding?

🔥 AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…

THE CRISPY BITS FROM THE ROASTING TRAY…

Are these:
A) For everyone
😎 For whoever gets there first
C) For the chef
D) NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS — I SAW THEM FIRST 😂

AND THEN WE HAVE THE FINAL CONTROVERSY…

📅 CAN YOU HAVE A “SUNDAY ROAST” ON A TUESDAY?

If you eat roast beef, roasties, Yorkshires and gravy on a Wednesday…

Is it still a Sunday roast?

Or does it become a Wednesday Roast and require an entirely different gravy licence? 🤔

MEET OUR NATHAN… AKA SID!

Every kitchen needs a Nathan… although we’re not entirely sure why. 😂

Nathan has been our top pot washer, prep chef, kitchen comedian and professional pain in the arse for quite some time now! 👨‍🍳😂

He’s an absolute legend and has kept the kitchen entertained with his jokes, his banter and his general ability to somehow make even washing pots entertaining!

Sadly for us, but something we’re massively proud of, Sid is heading off to university to pursue his dream of becoming a PILOT! ✈️

From washing pots to flying planes… quite the career progression! ❤️

We’re going to miss him like mad, so we’re currently looking into the cost of a life-size bronze statue of Nathan in the beer garden.

Obviously it will be positioned next to the bar, so he can continue doing absolutely nothing while watching everyone else work. 🍺😂

Seriously though, Nathan, we couldn’t be prouder of you. ❤️

Go chase that dream, work hard and become the pilot you want to be.
