🚗 The speed limit on Kingsway is changing! 🚗

From the end of July, the speed limit on Kingsway will be reduced from 40mph to 30mph.

❓ Why the change?
Excess speed is a factor in one in three fatal road crashes.
By driving at lower speeds, drivers have more time to react to unexpected events, preventing crashes or lessening their impact.

🌿 What does this mean for you?
Safer roads for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians
Improved air quality and reduced emissions, helping us move toward our carbon net zero goals
Potentially smoother traffic flow and less congestion.

📉 Worried about longer journey times?
Research shows that lower speed limits don’t significantly increase travel time. In fact, they can lead to more consistent speeds and fewer bottlenecks. Other cities worldwide have seen reduced congestion and fewer accidents after similar changes.

🚦 Slower is safer. Don’t get caught out.

The Sidings, Levenshulme will accept old school uniforms for the local schools in the area. We will then have them available a week before school is back for people to come and pick up uniforms for the next term. Please ensure they are clean and let us know which school they are for.
