Our aromatic crispy duck is a dish of wonder, delight, oohs and ahhs. We marinate the duck for 24 hours to make it melt in the mouth and infuse with umami flavours of five spice and orange zest. Then it is flash fried to give the skin that glass like crispiness and mouthfeel. It is served with gluten-free homemade hoisin sauce so we know every single ingredient in the sauce to avoid hidden cross contamination. And gluten-free pancakes. What a great day it was today. We loved cooking for you all and celebrating special birthdays . Thank you for returning to us after our break. We were full from 5pm and again at 7pm we don’t take your custom for granted. EVERY single table had someone who opted for the menu. We cook every single dish with love and care. We want all our and diners to take centre stage and be the mainstream with us. You are our focus and you are the reason why we have devoted over 22 years to keeping Sweet Mandarin open. Wow it’s Friday already and the weekend beckons. We are excited to cook you a plethora of your favourite dishes including the pictured Chicken and Green Peppers and Blackbean. Imagine visiting a restaurant and being totally confident you are going to be safe and the only worry is which of the fifty dishes you can choose from. Well at Sweet Mandarin it’s all made for you my and friends. You’re the mainstream diner at Sweet Mandarin, not the afterthought. You get a whole menu which is gluten-free. We even have glutenfree Peroni Nastro Azzurro UK . We even have chosen straws that don’t have (can you believe even straws could be that culprit that glutens you!). We’ve thought about you, the dining experience, the Chinese dishes you’ve craved for before you were diagnosed and we now warmly welcome you to Sweet Mandarin. See you at 5pm. Day three of our reopening and it’s like we have never been away. Great to cook for you all and getting stuck into restaurant life again. Today we are excited to cook a wide variety of and also dishes. We often get asked are there any dishes which are both gluten-free and vegan. In short yes! We have a whole menu for you. Our most popular starter is pictured here. They are juicy, have a great umami flavour and moreish. See you at 5pm.

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Today we reopened after a two week holiday and you visited in your droves! That is so amazing. Thank you. I loved cooking for you all and reiterate our promise - your will always be 100% safe for you at Sweet Mandarin. Your dietary needs are taken extremely seriously by us. Our first focus is to keep you safe and enjoy your meal with peace of mind. We ensure there is no cross contamination in our gluten-free kitchen by investing in dedicated fryers, woks, chopping boards and utensils for gluten-free dishes only. We opt for naturally gluten free ingredients, we make the sauces in house so we know there are no hidden traces of gluten and we promise there is zero loose flour on site to prevent airborne cross-contamination. We do not use any dairy in our dishes. We also prepare all vegan dishes in dedicated, separate pans away from meat items.

If you need dishes to be adapted eg no nuts, no egg, no onion, no garlic please pre order and we will try our best to accommodate you or will advise you to choose alternative dishes. It seems the is a firm favourite. It’s back on the menu tomorrow. We also have ice cold (Peroni) which is a perfect accompaniment. See you tomorrow. We will keep cooking for you and will keep going as long as you want us to. 21 years strong! Nearly out for good behaviour!
