Austin's Ices

🍦🎉 Happy 17th Birthday, Ethan! 🎉🍦

Today we had the pleasure of attending Ethan’s 17th birthday celebrations, and what a lovely occasion it was!

Ethan and his family have been booking Austin’s Ices for his birthday for a number of years now, and it’s always a pleasure to be part of his special day. ❤️

Every year, Ethan treats the congregation at his local church to an ice cream to celebrate his birthday, which we think is a fantastic tradition! 🍦

But Ethan isn’t just any ice cream customer… he’s a HUGE ice cream van enthusiast! He absolutely loves the vans, the chimes and everything that goes on behind the scenes. Whenever he’s on board, he’s busy looking around, recording videos and asking us lots of questions. We do our very best to answer them all, and it’s always a pleasure to see his enthusiasm and passion! 😁🚐

This year was extra special as we arrived in our brand-new, electric-powered ice cream van, and Ethan absolutely loved it! ⚡🍦 It’s fantastic to share our latest van with someone who appreciates these vehicles as much as we do.

And the best bit? Ethan has already booked us again for 2027! 🎉

Thank you to Ethan and his family for continuing to choose Austin’s Ices year after year. We hope you had a brilliant 17th birthday, Ethan, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Keep loving those ice cream vans and chimes, Ethan! 🍦🔔❤️

🍦🎸 WHEN THE ICE CREAM CHIMES INTERRUPT THE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL! 🎸🍦

We had a bit of a celebrity interruption at Austin’s Ices today… 😎

This rather familiar-looking gentleman was busy signing copies of his book when he heard the unmistakable sound of the Austin’s Ices chimes! 🔔🍦

So naturally, the book signing had to be temporarily abandoned… priorities! 😂

He popped out to grab himself one of our delicious ice creams — because apparently even rock stars can’t resist the chimes! 🍦❤️

Now… can you guess who he is? 🤔

Here’s a clue:
🎤 He’s a singer
🎸 He’s from one of Manchester’s most iconic bands
🌀 The band has carpets in its name… and they’re definitely not the kind you put on your living room floor! 😂

Yep… it’s Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets! 🙌

Thanks for stopping by, Clint — we’re honoured to have interrupted the book signing for an Austin’s Ices! 😜🍦

Rock ‘n’ roll can wait… ice cream can’t! 🎸🍦😂

Apparently everyone’s using AI to turn their photos back into the 1980s…

Well, I’ve got news for you — these are actually from the 1980s. No AI, no filters, no Photoshop… just questionable haircuts, dodgy fashion and absolutely no regrets! 😂

While everyone else is asking AI to recreate the 80s, I was actually there… and looking at these photos, I’m not sure I should admit it! 🤣

Big hair ✅
Terrible fashion ✅
Zero fashion sense ✅
Plenty of memories ✅

The original 80s — no technology required! 📸🕺

🍦 DELIVEROO DELIVERS… ICE CREAM! 🍦😋

Yesterday we were invited along by Deliveroo to treat their hardworking staff to a well-deserved ice cream! 🚴‍♂️🍦

After all those deliveries, they definitely deserved to have something delivered to them for a change! 😂

There were plenty of happy faces, lots of delicious creations and, judging by the queue, we think the ice cream went down pretty well! ❤️

A huge thank you to Deliveroo for choosing Austin’s Ices and to all the team for making us feel so welcome.

You deliver the food… we deliver the happiness! 😎🍦

🍦 A little sneak peek… 40 years of Austin’s Ices ❤️🇮🇹

My journey with Austin’s Ices officially began back in 1986, when I started out with a 1976 Bedford CF ice cream van.

But the story actually goes back much further than that…

I can remember being just 7 years old, following my dad, Charlie, around Ordsall in his ice cream van, Charleys Whip. Those early memories have stayed with me throughout my life and, without my dad, I honestly don’t think I would be doing the job I absolutely love today. ❤️

Now, 40 years on, we’re about to take delivery of our new 76-reg ice cream van — and this artwork is a little tribute to where it all began.

It’s a picture of the streets of Ordsall, my dad’s van, my own journey with Austin’s Ices, and the memories that started it all.

This one is for you, Dad. ❤️

From a 7-year-old boy watching his dad serve ice creams around Ordsall, to 40 years of Austin’s Ices… what a journey it’s been.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🍦❤️
