We’re so excited to be taking part in Rioja W**e Month this October! ❤️

Rioja is one of Spain’s most beloved w**e regions, and this month we’ll be celebrating the incredible variety of w**es it has to offer.

We’re shining a special spotlight on Bodega Santalba who specialise in creating some truly beautiful Rioja w**es. 🍇🍷

And if you fancy getting to know their w**es a little better, we’ve got something very special coming up…

In November, we’ll be welcoming w**e maker Roberto Ijalba, from Bodegas Santalba to Evuna for an exclusive w**e tasting, where you’ll have the chance to discover more of his incredible range, hear the stories behind the w**es and, of course, enjoy plenty of tasting along the way! 🇪🇸

Her passion for w**e began long before Evuna, not just in books or classrooms, but right in the vineyards themselves - tasting grapes from the vine, learning about the harvest and experiencing the traditions that continue to inspire Evuna today.

From the w**es we pour to the people we bring together, so much of what makes Evuna special comes from Jane’s passion, vision and love for all things Spanish. 🇪🇸

This autumn we’re launching a brand-new monthly Supper Club at Evuna Knutsford, celebrating the people, cultures and flavours behind our kitchen ✨

We have a wonderfully diverse team from all over the world, and through our Supper Club series we want to introduce you to them through the food they know and love — sharing specialities, flavours and dishes inspired by their hometowns and heritage.

Each Supper Club features a specially created tasting menu with w**e included, taking you somewhere different every month.

First Supper Club — Meet Ali

We begin with our Head Chef, Ali, who is originally from Pakistan but grew up in Aragon in Northern Spain. For his Supper Club, Ali brings together the flavours of his Pakistani heritage with his deep love of Spanish cooking — a unique Spanish-Asian fusion tapas menu created especially for the evening.

To celebrate the Eat Spain, Drink Spain campaign this month, we have paired together a couple of staff favourites for you to enjoy! 🇪🇸

Carrillada de Cerdo (Iberian pork cheeks) with our very own Tempranillo,
Evuna Red 🍽 🍷

'Pork cheeks naturally call for generous red w**es with good structure and a balanced body that won’t overpower the meat’s tenderness,’ says General Manager of Knutsford Irene. '

That’s why aromatic, fruity reds like our Evuna Red, (which is produced exclusively for us by Bodega Yllera) are excellent with pork cheeks and mash. Their red berry notes highlight the gentle richness of the meat, while the oak ageing in the w**e echoes reduction notes in the sauce.'
