Valentine’s Day 2023
(I say this every year)
Boys, if you think you are against the odds and she is not the adventurous type, don’t bring her here!
Here is not the spot. Not romantic nor Instagramable. And we won’t be doing anything special. Sorry. Uncle is too tired.
See you on some other day.
Best of luck. Carpe diem.

Valentine's Day 2017
Well...I agree...
It is not the most romantic spot on earth.
It's small. Chairs are not comfortable.
There is that garlicky smell (because servers are peeling them right next to you)
Nearly everything has red hot chili pepper in it and brushing your teeth won't make it go away. They linger on, them fermented chilis.
There is no customer toilet. You can't book a table.
There is that grumpy chef who gets cranky whenever he hears the word "Tempura".
Boys, If it's your first date, and you think you are against the odds, and she is not the adventurous type... Don't bring her here!!
Why take a risk when your chances are slim to none in the first place.
Surrounding atmosphere and logistics are fundamental drills for first dates. Get that right and you are in there, even if you are ugly as a muel.
Northern Quater, Deansgate, Spinningfield, China Town, Curry Mile will have more suitable places. A piece of advice from your Korean uncle.
Having said that..
We are probably the perfect place for lone diners, group of solos and anyone who don't care at all about this, god awfully over-commercialised, internationally over-rated, day.
People still go to work, go to uni and eat, with or without romance. There is that niche and that is our market. So...
I have decided not to do anything "special" for today. It will just be a normal service. Don't expect a rose on the table or anything.
Although...
Heart shaped eggs for Bibimbap is doable..
Overload of Korean love songs and few candles..maybe...
Choco pie tempura... probably not..
Extra strong mouth wash in the toilet.. doable...it's probably there already.
See you.
An-nyong!
