Morning all!
We’re having another joyful day today, with no hot water and a broken fridge.
We’ve got someone coming to have a look at the water at around 1pm so we’ll update on our opening time then.

One week into new hours and we’re already having some teething issues. How very ice shack!
We won’t be opening today to give me a bit more time to get this cake cabinet and freezer full up.
Good news is no sloping away for gigs for me this week, I’ll be in making ice cream all week :)

It’s another beautiful day, and I am very rudely sloping off to London to go live my 14 year old emo dreams and see the black parade (again 😅)

Good news strawberry fans! It’s officially peak deliciousness season, so we’ve got 4 strawberry flavours in this week.
Strawberry sorbet, strawberry and basil ice cream, strawberry matcha latte ice cream, and Victoria sponge ice cream (and yes! It’s made with no gluten containing ingredients!)
We’ve also got rum and raisin back by popular demand, and I really mean that! About 7 people asked for it yesterday 😅
A lovely combo of myself and Adam will be here today until 8 :)

We’re back from our summer break with our new summer hours! You can now find us here on Tuesdays from 2-6pm
And to celebrate, we have a brand new cake! Super lemony and super duper soft non gluten sponge with a tart raspberry topping, it’s the start of loaf cake summer for us!
Here until 6, then back 12-8 tomorrow :)

Ice shack summer holiday!
I’ve actually decided to have this as my summer week off!
If you have a custom cake I’ll still be doing these so no panic! And if you need me urgently I will be in the shop doing a big sort out, ready for next week, and I’ll be there tonight from 5 ready to welcome you to the very very funny Will Danes show.
Sorry everyone, but the ice cream lady needs a big nap.

Hello everyone!
I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather as much as me!
Just to let you know, we won’t be open tomorrow so I can take another full day to restock for the week.
Expect tasty tasty cake, delicious soup, a full ice cream freezer, and a new milky hot chocolate when we’re back on Thursday, plus the amazing Will Dane will be performing in the evening as part of the GM Fringe!

You’ll be pleased to hear that we’re restocking ice cream faster than you can say ‘actually Leah, I’m still not sure if that’s enough for how bloody hot it is out there’
Oh. And the aircon is cranking both downstairs and up in our kids room.
And did you know you can ice any of our hot chocolate. Just ask for a not hot chocolate 😅
Stay safe, keep applying sun cream, and enjoy it as much as you are able to.

A few years ago now, while still at the old shop, I read an article with frankly shocking statistics on the number of adults and children who were anxious about the return to work and school post covid because they couldn’t afford basic hygiene items. I cannot remember the number, but I do vividly remember being absolutely horrified that this was going on silently in our community.
This station in the bathroom is something I will be trying my best to keep stocked, and is available for anyone to take what they need discreetly and with no questions asked. I will be working on getting some simple razors too, which will be kept behind the counter for anyone who needs them.
Schemes like this don’t change the world, but there’s a chance that it will make an enormous difference to someone, so please spread the word that this exists for everyone, not just customers.
We also have an umbrella station for anyone who forgets theirs, so please feel free to nip in to borrow one while out and about.
If you can think of anything else it would be nice to include in our hygiene station, or of any other schemes you’d like to see us run please let me know! I’m really keen to make this the year that I finally knuckle down and get really involved in every way I can.
