It’s another free soup Friday!
Today we have a carrot and coriander, and then there’ll be pea soup later too!
I’ll also be launching our summer menu soon, which will include the ‘Ice Shack Blast’
Sorbets of your choice, blended with lemonade. Just like a slush, but doesn’t lose its flavour. It’s amazing.

Cakey today is 4 layers of sponge made with no gluten containing ingredients and then smothered in 1.5kg of ganache.

I once again brought the rain with me yesterday, so we have a bit of cake.
But that just means it’s time for a cake sale!
Certain slices and cupcakes are just £2, and everything else is 20% off!

I just want to say a huge thank you.
Thank you to everyone who came in to check on me yesterday. It was so kind and lovely and it meant the world to me.
And thank you to everyone who came to the protest today.
I saw so many of you i felt like I was back at the shop 😂
This might be the best community ever, and that is a hill I will die on!
I’m sorry to anyone who was disappointed today by the shop being closed. I did get back much later than I expected, but being there today was important to me. It was about showing that Manchester is a city of love, compassion, and acceptance. It was about showing that hate has no place here. And perhaps most importantly of all it was about standing up for my friends, my coworkers, and my community and letting them know that they are loved, and they are protected. And that will always be the most important thing to me.
The shop is open now, and I do have a lot of biscuits left over so please feel free to pop down for a natter, but be warned, I am still a bit amped up 😅

We’re having a week this week!
From me being ill, to buzzing plugs and emergency fridge removals, right through to a brilliant demonstration from our local youth on how to wreck a room and steal a load of stuff, and I’m having a bit of a mental health sad day.
I’ll be opening the shop a bit late, hopefully before 1, but I just can’t see me being able to pull off soup being made before then.
As such, free soup is now on Saturday this week!
Hopefully from about 2 tomorrow.

Another day, another ridiculously good community scene in Withington!
This one is run by the Withington Civic Society Southway Housing, and Manchester Local Care Organisation to try to make the area more accessible for people to shop, dine, and wander around.
The scheme provides businesses who sign up with stickers to show what they will allow people to do without having to make a purchase.
There’s one for grabbing a seat, having a glass of water, using the bathroom, using a baby change area, and finally one to show that the business is breastfeeding friendly.
I think this scheme is one of the most important ones that run in the area, and it would be incredible to try to get both more places signed up, and to hopefully expand the scheme to cover more areas.
Let us know what you think of the scheme. Give the lovely community focussed businesses who’ve signed up some love! And do some reccies in business that haven’t signed up for me if you can and try to find out what’s stopping them from joining in.

Ice shack games nights are returning!
Join us on Friday 6th March from 7-11pm for a games lock in!
We’ll have all our board games, video games, or you can bring your own. Come with friends or make new ones!

Tickets are £10 and include a scoop and a ‘games night’ friendship bracelet, or £20 to include a pizza from the wonderful .
