🐟 A LITTLE UPDATE FROM SYKES

We’re always trying to give you as much choice as possible at Sykes, and we’ve never wanted to be a shop that only does traditional fish and chips.

Alongside our fish, we make plenty of homemade specials, including our pies, chilli con carne, chicken madras, braised steak and plenty more throughout the year. ❤️

Unfortunately, there’s one thing we can’t control — the cost of the fish itself, which is particularly difficult when you’re a bloody fish and chip shop!

The price of good-quality cod has continued to rise, and it has reached a point where it’s becoming increasingly difficult for us to offer it at a price that we feel represents good value.

Rather than continually increasing our prices, we’re making a few changes to our fish menu:

🐟 Large Haddock — £8.00
🐟 Large Cod — £9.50
🐟 Small Hake — our NEW small fish option

We’ll still be offering large cod for those who really want it, but we’ll gradually be reducing the amount of cod we offer and putting more focus on haddock.

For those who usually choose a small cod, hake will now be our small fish option. We think it’s a fantastic fish and a great alternative.

We’ll also be running our small hake as a lunch special , giving you a more affordable fish and chips option:

🐟 Small Hake, chips & a side — £6.50

We know cod is a favourite for many of you, and we completely understand that. But by making these changes, we can continue to offer good-quality fish at sensible prices, while giving you plenty of other choices.

And remember, there’s plenty more going on at Sykes than just fish! Keep an eye out for our homemade pies, curries, braises and weekly specials. 😋
