⚠️ A NOTICE REGARDING DELIVERY REFUNDS ⚠️
Unfortunately, we have recently seen a significant increase in refund claims being made through Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.
These have included claims for:
• Orders supposedly not received
• Missing or damaged items
• Food supposedly arriving cold
• Even cans of drink being refunded for being “cold”
While we completely understand that genuine mistakes can occasionally happen, we are becoming increasingly concerned about the number and nature of some of the claims being made.
When a refund is issued through a delivery platform, the money is taken directly from our business, without us being contacted or given the opportunity to dispute the claim beforehand.
Bernie’s is a small, independent business. Fraudulent refund claims are not taking money from a huge corporation, they are taking it directly from a local business.
Going forward, we will be keeping detailed records of delivery orders and will challenge any claims that we believe to be false or fraudulent.
If there is ever a genuine problem with your order, please contact us. We will always do our best to put things right.
But deliberately making a false claim in order to receive free food or a refund is something we will not tolerate. If this continues we will have no choice but to stop deliveries entirely.
Don’t forget, your order can be as much as 50% cheaper when you come to us direct.
