After much consideration, I have decided to close Cups & Pups. I want to thank all my loyal customers both human & furry!

This page will stay open as I can say that there will be big exciting news to be announced in the very near future so please keep your eyes peeled!

I can’t say too much but can say that Cups & Pups will still be a coffee shop with lots exciting ideas being suggested to make it THE best coffee shop/bistro, run by a company that is very well known to the area.

I personally would like to wish them all the success possible & I am very excited for them. If any of my loyal customers say they will miss me, Im sure you will see me in there regularly.

🎉after over 2 weeks on the run in the storm freezing temperatures chased on the motorway twice 💔and only a puppy she’s been safely trapped this team does a amazing job and a lot of effort and sleepless nights 🐶❤️if you read the story and share and make a small donation even a few scuffy quid it all adds up 🎉❤️🩵🐶 💞TRAPPED AND SAFE 💞

On the 23 November we saw a post about a Beagle being chased who had a lead on. This was in Walkden M28. She was chased into a works unit where she went under the gate and disappeared. We put a poster out asking people to contact us if they saw her. Nobody responded so we thought she had managed to get back to owner.

On the 6 December we were contacted to help with this same dog who had been seen running around a housing estate near to where she had been sighted on the 23 November. Some of the residents had seen her on their cctv running the night before. They had left food for her. She still had a lead on.

That night we were busy trapping Blue, the poodle cross, so the following day in the storm we set a humane trap in one of the gardens there where she had been seen on cctv going on the drive. Food had been left but the cctv wasn’t pointing at the food so there was no way of knowing if she had eaten it. But we took the chance anyway as this was practically at the side of the motorway which she had already been seen on. Sadly she didn’t show, probably because of the storm, and hadn’t been seen on residents cctv. We kept the trap there anyway just in case and put fresh food in everyday (thank you to Danielle Cunliffe for doing the food), which the resident cats enjoyed and kept us awake every night with the notifications going off (we had to check everyone of these incase it was the beagle).

On Monday, we still hadn’t had any sightings of her so did a post asking for information. Some people responded telling us that they had seen her further away in Farnworth BL4 and she had been chased again, where she ran through a gate into a derelict building which was on land and fenced. That night we put a live camera and some food down. She appeared on camera eating the food an hour after.

We set the humane trap up the following night, Tuesday 10 December, where she had fed. She went inside pretty much straight away after we moved away and she was finally safe.

We have done a full body scan and she isn’t chipped and there have been no reports of a lost beagle. She is only a puppy but not sure yet of her age. We have named her Charlotte. Dog warden has been notified.

It is a relief she is now safe as she had been chased onto the motorway at least once and chased several times that we know of. It was a very busy area too. However, as it always is, when we are asked to help trap a stray dog, we become responsible for that dog especially once trapped. Not legally but morally. We think that she was tied up with the lead that she was seen wearing (by the time we trapped her it was no longer on her) and abandoned, along with all the other dogs that people are abandoning. She’s a baby. How a human being can do such a thing we will never know. Even if this isn’t the case, it is still happening to lots of other dogs.

If you would like to support us and donate, or do a monthly direct debit, even if only a small amount, it all helps these lost dogs, the details are below:
