It’s all coming together and my heart is so full! It’s been a huge passion of mine to run dinners like this, to make spaces accessible to everyone and ensure people from all backgrounds can sit together and enjoy a meal. I’m bringing my knowledge from to .mcr as well, particularly in tackling food waste and using locally grown produce.
I’ve been working alongside .cic for a few years now, and after getting to know Norton, we realised we share the same values, approach to life, and love of food (and mushrooms!). Nort had the idea for an inclusive dinner at the start of spring, and it honestly felt like fate brought us together, I was like, “1000% yes, let’s do it!” We started workshopping, and many meetings later, with help from our good friend Aga, our idea became reality! Throughout the night, everyone was full of smiles and so much joy; it was definitely a pinch-me moment that we pulled it off. 🙌🏿
Everything was plant-based at our sold-out supper club. We prevented waste from going to landfill by working with , and showcased incredible produce from other community-interest organisations like .co.uk and .cic, as well as HQ allotment. All remaining food was boxed up and donated to a local food bank. Thank you to the whole team, guests that came along and for letting us use the space.
We’re not stopping here, this pilot is now evolving into future community dinners and accessible skill-sharing projects. Exciting times ahead in 2026! Follow .mcr to stay up to date with our next dinner, planning is already underway!
