Did you see our collab video a couple of weeks ago with about pumpkins?

As well as two videos showing you a curry and a muffin recipe using pumpkin, we also wrote a recipe to make pumpkin soup.

On a cold day like today, after some time out in the garden veg patch, nothing beats a heart warming pumpkin soup.

Over the last week, the hospitality industry in Manchester has benefited from the additional money brought into this city by The Party Conference.

We have a diverse community in our industry. I was saddened by the comments and attacks inserted into speeches by our national government, designed to get applause mid speech.

It is a difficult subject to handle. Many of us have opinions at odds with friends, family, and loved ones. But no one deserves to feel fear or hatred in life. I want my LGBTQ+ colleauges to know that they are safe in our industry.

Back in spring we got to know more about the allotment that had with to grow the majority of our local, seasonal, and sustainable produce.

Potatoes, artichokes, and rhubarb were looking to have a good start in their growing season.

This is where it all began. Almost one year ago when we invited friends, suppliers, and some press to try our food. Gorgeously hosted and assisted by in Sale.

So you might be wondering where we have been. Well, it’s David here typing this message. I have been unwell and stress from that meant I needed a break from the supper clubs. My doctor was concerned that I might have colon cancer. Next week I have an operation that will hopefully confirm that I do not… and maybe see what it could be that is causing me so much pain at the moment.

Iain is well, and working on some projects that we hope to share with you real soon. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

In the meantime, thank you to everyone who follows us, has dined with us, and supported us. We especially want to thank the following people for their love and support in 2023.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unfortunately cancelling this weeks supper club ‘Dinner with Lowry & Valette’

Over the last few months, we have enjoyed our supper clubs and pop-ups. However, we are going to pause our activity for a while. Over the last few months David has had some health issues, and is going to take some time out.

Keep following for updates, and we look forward to sharing news when we can.

Do you know what a Tayberry is?

This is our Madame Grès Allotment Trifle, inspired by the Madame Grès cocktail dress on display in the ‘Unpicking Couture’ exhibition.

Layers of tayberry, strawberry, and fig. All grown locally at allotment and garden.

Tayberry is a cross between blackberry and red raspberry, cultivated for the first time in 1979 in Scotland.
