SNOW DOES NOT BREAK A WILLOW | 柳に雪折れなし
There’s a Japanese proverb - 𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘪 𝘯𝘪 𝘺𝘶𝘬𝘪 𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪 - that symbolises the strength in adaptability and flexibility to overcome life’s hardships.
We have had a handful of (mild) hardships handed to us that have taken a slight physical and mental toll this week. The exhaustion came creeping up. Then Saturday came, and somehow you, our customers, really showed up.
It really is such a beautiful thing to welcome new guests, compare how cold our hands are (lol), fix the slightly knocked out of place light fitting with you before you’ve even ordered, and learn about the much-missed rainbow bridge cat behind that adorable tattoo of yours.
We are always so grateful, through the ups and downs, to go on this Japanese food journey with all of you. Sometimes we just need a day like yesterday to remind us of that.
So as the willow does not break, we shall adapt ever so slightly today, Sunday 13th September, and postpone opening to 13:00, for an extra hour of bending, not breaking.
