This week, meet Hayden!

He’s been with us for 6 months now, so we thought it was about time you got to know him

By day, Hayden is working towards a career in software engineering - although we’re not entirely sure if that means he’s actually brilliant or just very good at pretending he knows what he’s doing!

When he’s not at work, you’ll find him with a guitar in hand. He’s a big music fan, loves playing, going to gigs and generally making plenty of noise! He’s also rather partial to his Toyota Celica, you might want to make sure you’ve got plenty of time for a chat.

Favourite dish: Shawarma chicken flatbread
Favourite drink: Aspalls or Asahi — depending on the mood!

Whether it’s a work do, a festive get-together with friends or a big family gathering, we’ve got the space to make it feel extra special this Christmas.

Three private dining spaces to choose from:
• The Library – perfect for 16–20 guests
• Upstairs Private Dining Room – ideal for 12–20 guests
• The Snug & Flag – our larger space, seating 30–40 guests

Add in a delicious Christmas set menu, a cosy country pub atmosphere and, of course, the pub dressed up in all its festive finest… and you’ve got yourself a Christmas celebration sorted!

Our Christmas Fayre menu runs from 27th November right through to Christmas Eve

Curry week has officially begun!

We'll be exploring the South Asian culture, and adding some spice to the Plough and Harrow. Alongside our daily menu, we will be running a curry week menu, where there will be something for everyone wanting to deviate from our delicious fish and chips.

We promise nothing too spicy (if that's what you like, just ask), and plenty of flavour.

This week, it’s Izzy!

Izzy has been part of our team for just over a year and is one of our friendly faces you’ll hopefully have spotted around the pub!

When she’s not at the Plough, Izzy has her sights firmly set on becoming an equine vet at Edinburgh University. And in her spare time? Horses, horses and… more horses! She also enjoys a game of netball.

Favourite dish: Crispy beef salad
Being gluten free, Izzy is lucky enough to have plenty to choose from on our menu, but for her it’s got to be the crispy beef salad - you just can’t beat a classic!

Favourite drink: A large latte - preferably one that’s never-ending!

Halloween dog walk - Saturday 31st meet us from 9.30am for pastries and hot drinks before setting off. We can’t wait to see all your pawesome friends dressed up for the occasion… and humans, you’re welcome to join in too🎃

And finally, we are thrilled to say that Live music will be carrying on throughout the month with some fabulous artists lined up every Friday night from 8pm until 10pm
