I have some very sad news to pass onto you all, our wonderful chef and very dear friend Kellie passed away around 2 weeks ago. For the last 9 months Kellie has been the strongest and bravest person I have ever known while she fought her hardest to stay with her family as long as possible, but in the end the illness won. Kellie was the most amazing person I knew and kept her sense of humour right until the end. Kellies husband has given permission for me to share her funeral details with you all xx

C L O S I N G D O W N

I have had the most amazing 3 and a half years but heartbreaking as it is, it’s time for me to close my doors.

My last day was Saturday 30th March.

I know people will say are you crazy, you are busy every weekend and all your events sell out but unfortunately that does not pay the bills and I can’t continue on.

With the increase in overhead and food pricing being through the roof, I cant really carry on.

When I was given this amazing opportunity 3 and a half years ago, with no experience of running a business, a kitchen or managing staff and I had nothing to lose, and a dream in my heart to create a space for the community. I have tried my best but with covid, cost of living crisis, and the building being in such bad state, its been a constant battle. I have tried my best to work with the landlords but they point blank refuse to do any of the structural or electrical work to make the building up to commercial standards.

I have dedicated every part of my life to this shop and have worked so incredibly hard to make it what it is today, including sacrificing my family, and health, Working all days of the week for months and months on end without a day off unfortunately can’t continue.

I now need to put myself and family first, that means me having a better work life balance.

Since opening Serendipity it has been the best experience I have ever had and I have met some amazing people along the way.

To my regular customers i will miss you all so much & I would like to thank you personally for always supporting me and the business. There has been many tears this week saying goodbye to you all, and Kellie, Lauren and myself are so grateful for all the well wishes, cards, presents it has meant so much to know how loved we are.

To my amazing family I want to thank you all for supporting my dream. And helping me make my crazy ideas come to life.

The ones who support me you know who you are and I am forever grateful. A massive thank you to all the girls past and present that have worked alongside me, i have gained many new lifelong friends and could not have done any of this without you. 🤍

As for the future, i have no idea what it holds, as one door closes, another opens, but where ever we end up we will keep you all updated.

This isn’t goodbye it’s see you soon X

We are starting to get a nice selection of mothers day gifts and easter gifts in the gift shop upstairs, much more to come. We are also able to do gift vouchers for an amount to spend in the tearoom or for our afternoon teas xx

I know alot of you have been asking for the bereavement group to come back. I am happy to announce the bereavement group run by farleigh hospice has started again, at 10.15 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Dates for the next few months.

March 5th 2024 10.15am
March 19th 2024 10.15am
April 2nd 2024 10.15am
April 16th 2024 10.15am
No booking necessary, just come along to the friendly group xx
