We wanted to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful customers who donated to support our daughter Abbie in the London Marathon last Sunday. We’re so proud to share that she completed the marathon and raised an incredible £2,000 for her chosen charity, United Response.

We’re truly grateful for all your generosity and encouragement — it means the world to us and to Abbie.

Thank you so much for being part of this journey!

One Whole Year!

Wow, time truly flies when you’re having fun – can you believe it’s been a year already?

This wasn’t the year we originally pictured for retirement, but as we wrap it up, we feel grateful to be surrounded by the people we love most.

It feels like just yesterday we were flipping eggs and saying our goodbyes. And yes – we miss it terribly. There have been so many moments we’ve talked about starting again because it wasn’t just a job – it was our way of life.

But as some of you know, Jeff’s had a awful health scare at the beginning of the year reminded us that life is precious, and tomorrow isn’t promised. As hard as it was to step away, we know in our hearts it was the right decision.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has checked in, sent well wishes, and stood by us during this challenging year. Your kindness means the world.

We’ve made memories – and friends – to last a lifetime.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a joyful, peaceful 2025. Here’s to good health, happiness, and a bright year ahead for us all!

Move over spice girls…… this is the reunion you’ve all been waiting for🤣

It’s been a whirlwind 11 months but we finally managed to get us all in the same room for a very long overdue catch up.

There were tears, hugs and SO much laughter.

All we know is, it’s been the quickest and craziest 11 months for us, but we have a friendship that will stand the test of time

Forever the best Teapot team minus our Mat leave girl & our little Saturday boys.

We hope everyone is well ☕️ 🥓

Good evening everyone,

We hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas break. It’s definitely been a little strange having so much time off.

The new owners have set up a new TeaPot page that they would love you all to follow. It would be great if you could show them some support.

They re-open tomorrow and we wish them the best of luck.

The link is below, if you click on it- it takes you directly to their page.

See you all soon

🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎉

Hello all, we hope everyone is well and on the path to recovery from the recent festivities!

As we prepare to re-open on Friday morning, we would just like to say thank you for all the support we have received during this bitter sweet transition.

Let's face it, no one could ever replace Jeff and Debbie, and all they brought to the Tea Pot Cafe, but we will be striving to bring you the same quality food, service, and most importantly, that feeling of community that the Tea Pot Cafe has always nutured in our town.

We are so excited to rise to this challenge as custodians of the legacy Jeff and Debbie built here, and we can't wait to open Friday morning to begin this new chapter in the history of the Tea Pot Cafe with you all!

Once again, all of our thanks, and we hope to serve you soon!

End of an era

We don’t know where to start. First of all we would love to thank all of our customers for the most thoughtful and kindest retirements gifts, it’s been overwhelming to say the least. We never expected anything as it is always our greatest pleasure serving you all.

When we announced back In April that we had decided to retire, we never thought that these last 9 months would fly by so quick. They really have just flown but we are glad we gave so much notice because it meant we really got to say goodbye to everyone.

It’s been such a bittersweet moment but again being able to share these moments with so many of you has been heartwarming. As a family we are generally heartbroken, the hardest decision to all walk away and to not continue the legacy but as most of you can imagine it’s been a gruelling 43 years all round and I think the five of us really need a break and to start spending so very much needed family time. Life is busy and it’s crazy and you never know what is round the corner. It’s time to enjoy each other and I know for sure that those Grandchildren need some sleepovers at Nannies and a Grampies.

We would like to personally thank our amazing staff for the craziest Teapot year to date, we haven’t known a year like it and it’s safe to say they have earned a very nice Christmas break. It’s well deserved and we hope that the memories we have shared with them the last few months will stay with them all well into the future. They have touched our hearts and without them there is no way we could have survived this year especially since announcing retirement- they really are the BEST team.

It’s safe to say we have left an imprint on so many people as have you all to us.
I don’t think it will ever quite be the same without us behind the counter but with some of our staff staying we hope they give it a good go and you all find some comfort in familiar faces.

It’s time to close this chapter now and thank you all for giving us such a wonderful 43 years in business. It’s been our whole life and we wouldn’t change a thing. We hope we have left some history here and we will remember you all for supporting us and giving us your custom all these years. Without you guys coming here there would be no Teapot.

So for one last time, from the bottom of our hearts we are ready to finally say goodbye.

Goodbye for now, we hope the future brings you all health and happiness and you enjoy a wonderful Christmas.

Closing 2023 and this chapter and very much looking forward to retirement.

Love

IMPORTANT

Christmas opening UPDATE

We need to share with you all that we will NO LONGER BE OPENING CHRISTMAS EVE.

It’s been such a hard decision to make but after the busiest four months to date, emotions that are high and some very tired staff we will now make Saturday 23rd our last day.

We know it’s not tradition for us and we always open Christmas Eve but Saturday feels just the right time this year to go.

We hope to go out with a bang this Saturday and say goodbye to our regulars, we are sorry for those that were looking forward to a Teapot on a Sunday.

Three days to go, please come and say goodbye. We are ready for this next chapter

Love
Jeff & Debbie

Hi everyone,

Our daughter Abbie has managed to secure a place at the London marathon next April. She will be running for a small charity called
United response.

We want to say thank you to every single one of you that has sponsored her so far. Your generosity has been incredible.

They are a small charity that rely heavily on any funding that they receive. The charity helps support people with autism and other learning difficulties get employment and apprenticeships. They also support people with additional needs to live independently.
Some of you are aware that our granddaughter Scarlette was diagnosed with complex special educational needs so this is a cause close to our heart. As a family and as a business this is something we are really passionate about and over the years we have supported many young adults in this cafe.
This may touch you personally or you may know somebody else that would benefit from this charity- so we are sharing today to ask if you can please click the link below, read our daughters page and if you can afford to any donations would be amazing.

Thank you in advance for any support whether it be a sponsor or share we appreciate it all.
