Members of the The Fat Duck team were delighted to join our friends at Hundred Hills, in Oxfordshire’s Stonor Valley, to help bring in this year’s harvest. Secateurs in hand and boots firmly muddied, the team spent the day picking grapes and learning about the care, patience and terroir that go into every bottle of English sparkling w**e.

Understanding where our ingredients come from, and the people behind them, is fundamental to how we cook and how we serve. A day like this connects our team with the craft at its very source. And it’s a lot of fun, too.

There’s still time in October to enjoy our gratifying gastronomic reorientation known as the Topsy-Turvy Experience, before we turn our attention to our Christmas menu, The Fable Tree. Book your experience for October and see what it’s like to start your meal with sweet and move towards savoury. A typically untypical take on dining from Heston that opens the eyes as well as the taste buds. The last Topsy-Turvy for 2026 is the 29th October before it returns in 2027!

A short train ride from London and situated by a beautiful stretch of the Thames not far from Windsor Castle, Bray’s leafy streets and picture-perfect cottages belie the fact that this is a spot with a colossal culinary reputation and more Michelin stars than any other village in Britain. The Michelin definition of three stars is ‘exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey’ – and nowhere represents that better than our little village in Berkshire. This is what gastronomic paradise looks like.
