Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a difference.

Some of the members of the Starfish Project in Mid Ulster and Causeway Coast & Glens recently got together for an early morning breakfast at McDonald’s in Magherafelt, before heading out for a walk at Polepatrick, Magherafelt.

The Starfish Project supports women who have experienced domestic violence, helping them rebuild confidence, develop new skills and reconnect with their local communities.

Mornings like this are an important part of that journey. Sharing breakfast, getting outdoors, enjoying a walk and having the opportunity to chat in a relaxed environment can all help build confidence, friendships and a sense of connection.

A simple morning, but a good reminder that creating opportunities for people to come together, feel supported and enjoy each other’s company can have a real impact.

Well done to everyone involved in the Starfish Project and, in particular, to the members who came along and made the morning such an enjoyable one.
