Three out of four of my kids grandparents had/have a form of dementia.
Its not easy watching the light fade knowing they recognise you, but cant get your name. I'm very fortunate I had Conans support for the most of mummy's time in the nursing home. Very fortunate that his parents still smile when I visit, even though it is hard as I know they have no idea of my connection to them.
Forever grateful for the memories made. They may forget, but I hold dear. ♥️💙❤️

September 11th this year Conan would have turned 50.
In his name the twins and I will jump to raise money for dementia uk. Both his and my family know the difficulties of this horrible disease first hand.
There will be a gathering of family and friends in The Terrace Hotel on Friday 11th September, so keep the date free, call in and celebrate with us, and if we are fortunate to have completed the jump (weather permitting) you might even see the sheer panic in my face before and relief afterwards🫣

I've been every year and have never heard a negative word from anyone in attendance. And, if you find yourself with an hour to spare, grab a coffee, and wander round the beautiful grounds and maybe purchase some local products from the lovely artisan stalls that will be in attendance aswell.
