Hennighan's Fish & Chip Takeaway & Restaurant

Hennighan's Fish & Chip Takeaway & Restaurant My parents started Hennighan's Top Shop in June 1982 by converting an old corner shop into a chip shop.

Hennighan's Fish & Chips was established in 1982 and has been a running fish & chip takeaway since, we also have a restaurant at our bottom shop site located in the centre of Machynlleth I managed the business until their retirement in 1998, at which point I took over ownership. The shop was completely refurbished throughout, with brand new state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen fittings and our own personal style of decor. Since this time we have won several awards, business has been excellent and we are now in the UK’S top 10 chip shops. After 31 years in the job I still have the enthusiasm now that I had when we first started, and I hope that my own children share the same desire. My wife and I are both heavily involved in the business with Eleanor doing the lunchtime shift and myself the night shift and the preparation in the morning. Why not take a trip to Hennighan's and tantalise your tastebuds!

🍟 NATIONAL CHIP WEEK – GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY! 🚒❤️

Machynlleth firefighters had a great delivery of our chips at the beginning of their weekly drill night. We also couldn’t forget about Jono’s beans!🍟😉

The team at Machynlleth Fire & Rescue do so much more than fight fires. As co-responders and animal rescuers, they are there for our community in so many ways. We truly don’t know where we’d be without them.

Our community looks after us — so it’s only right that we look after you too.
