The Church House Inn is located in the Cheshire Parish of Sutton. Surrounded by rolling hills, the popular inn has carved out a deserved reputation for serving a variety of traditional home cooked fayre. There is also a Specials food board which is constantly changed by our two chefs to give our customers variety. Recognised by CAMRA as a purveyor of fine real ales - The Church House Inn Has been

in the Camra Good Beer Guide for the last four years. From local breweries Storm and Wincle to Unicorn and Banks - there is always a chance to sample our selection of fine ales. The Church House is ideal for walkers and cyclists - there is plenty of room for bikes and boots. Our beer garden also houses a sheltered, heated smoking area. We pride ourselves on being family friendly and have a safe, fenced children's play area. We are also extremely doggy friendly! If you are in the area - why not call in on Sean, Kristen and our friendly team! We cater for big groups - please call in advance. We are open from 12 noon till late.

Thanks for this great write up on our famous Sutton8 charity pub walk which involves all the fantastic pubs in our beautiful area!

With the sad news that the Hanging Gate Inn is closing from this month, we are sad that this cherished pub will no longer be involved with the Sutton 8. However, we are delighted to announce that the Langley Cricket Club is joining us so the Sutton8 will remain the Sutton8!! The cricket club has a lot to offer…. A great club house, breathtaking views and a fantastic team behind the bar. We are thrilled they have agreed to form part of the Sutton8 🍺

The new proposed route will be;
The Church House Inn
St Dunstan Inn
Leather's Smithy Pub
Back to Langley Cricket Club
Up and over to The Ryles Arms
Sutton Ex-Servicemen's Club
Sutton Hall
Ye Olde Kings Head - Gurnett

The next one is our Christmas One on the 5th December. Tickets will be on sale from next month! So get involved!!! 🍺 🧑‍🎄

The Sutton 8 is growing in popularity!

A traditional pub crawl with a few drinks, food, fun and fundraising.

The Sutton 8 is growing in popularity after around 240 walkers joined its latest hike through the Cheshire countryside.
Plenty of refreshments were enjoyed along the way as £1,120 was raised for East Cheshire Hospice.

The donation went to the charity’s What Women Want fundraising group who have raised £500,000 over 15 years.
The Sutton 8 is held twice a year with the next walk on Saturday, December 5.

The summer edition followed its usual 10k route, starting at the Church House pub.

Further stops were St Dunstan’s Inn in Langley, the Leather Smithy, Hanging Gate Inn, the Ryles Arms, Sutton Ex Servicemen’s Club, Sutton Hall and Ye Olde King’s Head in Gurnett.

Sean and Kristen Lucey have run the Church House for more than two years.

Kristen said: “Every pub helps with the organisation and it’s a great community effort.

“I organise ticket sales and breakfast. It cost £11 to enter and that covers costs and a charitable donation.

Each pub does their bit which suits them, with music and live bands.

“Walkers reach the King’s Head from mid-afternoon. It depends how many drinks they’ve had and how quickly they walk.
“People have as many drinks, and stay as long as they want, in each pub.

“They usually pace themselves, with a half a pint at each stop and the diehards end at the Kings for a few hours.”

Around 40 walkers took part in the longer Langley 11 last month, though three pubs – the Stanley Arms, Wild Boar Inn and Crag Inn – are now closed.

Kristen said: “The Sutton 8 is getting a bit of a name for itself. We had people staying in motor homes in our car park from Staffordshire, Liverpool and Scotland.

“The scenery here is breathtaking. The walk goes through beautiful countryside skirting Macclesfield Forest.

“On a nice sunny day, it’s glorious. The hike started about 10 years ago and has ramped up to quite significant numbers.
“I’m close friends with the five girls from What Women Want who work tirelessly for the Hospice.

“We love the way they work and their energy. It’s great to contribute to their cause.

“The Sutton 8 isn’t a race. You’re there to have a good time, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a few drinks with friends.”

A huge THANK YOU to Langley Cricket Club for hosting another fantastic community event! 🏏❤️

We had such a brilliant day — the weather might not have played ball ☔️😂 but it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits!

And a massive thank you to our Church House team who did us proud! 🏏🍻 No trophy for us this year, but they played brilliantly, gave it their all and most importantly had a great time! We’re very proud of you all! ❤️

Great people, great atmosphere and another lovely example of our local community coming together.

Thanks to everyone involved in organising it — we had a ball! 🥰🍻

🇰🇭 WOW!!! What a response! 🇰🇭

We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to Nara’s Cambodian Pop-Up this weekend — thank you so much! ❤️

We’re now very nearly fully booked!

Just a little note for everyone who has booked — due to the amazing demand, we are running several sittings on each table throughout the evening. Every booking has the table for a full 2 hours, regardless of what time you’re booked for, so there’s still plenty of time to relax and enjoy Nara’s fabulous Cambodian food. 🥢

Fancy chancing a walk-in? We’ve kept a few of our smaller tables for 2 available for walk-ins on a first come, first served basis.

And if the British weather decides to behave ☀️🤞, we’ll also have outside tables available for walk-ins, so there should be even more opportunity to join us!

We genuinely can’t believe the response — it looks like Sutton is VERY ready for Cambodian food! 🇰🇭❤️

See you this weekend!! 🇰🇭 Nara’s Kitchen Nara Phav

Well done to our Landlord and Lady Captain last year Hilary, and to everyone at Macclesfield Golf Club and The Church House!! You managed to raise nearly £10,000 for Alzheimer's Society in your Captains Year. We couldn’t be prouder. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing fund! 🩷🩷🩷

A Wonderful Show of Support ❤️

Last year’s captains came together to support Alzheimer’s, a truly heartbreaking disease that has affected so many lives.

Thanks to the fantastic efforts of Sean and Hilary, Macclesfield Golf Club was delighted to donate £9,976 to the charity.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this possible, but particularly to Sean and Hilary for their incredible dedication and hard work.

What a wonderful achievement and a fantastic example of the golf club community coming together for such an important cause. 💙
