We are a pay as you feel, surplus food café.

This means you can decide on the amount you can afford to pay for your food. The generosity of those who can afford to pay a little more allows for those who cannot afford to pay very much. How do we do this? About ¾ of the ingredients we use are from surplus food, mainly donated, but some we pay a small amount for. The rest (approx. ¼) we pay for, this includes all our drinks. “How much should I pay?”

Below are some suggestions for you. We can’t guarantee we will have all the food on the menu as it depends on what surplus food is available. BUT we will always have at least one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian main meal as well as soup. If you can’t afford the suggested price pay what you can. If you think the food and service warrants a greater donation please feel at liberty to pay more, or pop a few coins in the glass jar. SUGGESTED MINIMUM

Unfortunately due to a shortage of volunteers the cafe will close early this afternoon at 2:30pm.

Our chef/manager is away for a few days so we won’t be serving meals from 7th to 15th Aug.
We will have drinks, toast and cakes 🧁
Back to normal again on 20th 👍

Five years ago Angel at my Table opened.
We have served over 2500 free meals and saved hundreds of kilos of food from landfill.
Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and our fabulous customers 🥰

The wonderful people at ONE Project Macclesfield- Community Fridge & Surplus Food have been running Waste not Wednesday. I know it’s not Wednesday but here is my contribution:
Cream cheese made from an excess of yogurt kindly donated by The CORE Pantry
And what to do with the cream cheese I made? Used it with mushrooms to make mushroom pate of course. Which I froze for later
The rest was frozen to use in cheesecakes.

Loads of surplus food started arriving this morning ready for Feed the 500 tomorrow.
Along with preparing the savoury dishes, we cooked over 100 M&M cookies and made over 100 pots of jelly today. There will be lots of other cakes available too.
Come and see us tomorrow from 11:30.
