I’m in the sweet shop until Sunday just whilst all the staff find their feet in there! It’s been such a fun day but I’m already looking forward to getting back in the gift shop and ice cream next week! 💕🍦

There’s lots of things that people often email for, but one thing in particular that I get offered a lot…

And that’s people offering to run the social media. I am really grateful for all the interest I receive for all enquiries and although I am learning to delegate a little more, social media I don’t think could be ran by anyone other than myself.

This business isn’t just my job but my lifestyle, I’ve been behind the counter here for 21 years, I know it inside out. Social media is something that has proven over the more recent years to be so important to us and the way I run my social media is to be an open book, be honest and transparent as it helps us form good customer relationships not just with me but the whole team.

However, if anyone is offering to scrub the floors, wash the machines, clean the bins.. then I might consider 🤣💕

Working in retail and hospitality 🍦

Isn’t always easy!! This isn’t making excuses atall because it’s an important part of the role, but it’s real and it’s understanding that we are only human.

Working behind a counter you are expected to stand and smile all day long. Which is so easy to say but reality is that, that’s hard! Whether you have had a bad day at home, feeling unwell, grieving, feeling anxious, shy, just served someone rude, been shouted at, argued with..

Customer service is often classed as an ‘easy’ job but being able to put a face on all day long and put your personal struggles aside is a life skill.

I don’t doubt my team, they are amazing! I’m so proud of them but on the rare chance you may question your service please remember many are younger and this is their first job, they are still learning, please be kind and please remember we are all human. General rule is be kind and you’ll receive kindness back. 🥹🫶🏻

A familiar face 🤪🫶🏻 some of you will recognise Dom, not just one of my absolute besties but he used to work here a couple of years back but left us to be a postie! ❤️📮💌

He comes back every now and again to give me a helping hand (mostly to let me have a day off as he knows the shop inside out). Today, his partner Max has come along to help too! No doubt they’ve had the music on and a dance behind the counter 💃🕺🪩

So lucky to be surrounded by supportive friends ✨✨

COFFEE ☕️ and TOFFEE 🍯 are today’s additional flavours of whippy, alongside vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, blue raspberry and dairy free vanilla ✨🍦

Sunday funday! Ice cream shop open until 7pm tonight, crumble open until 6pm and it’s looking like a beautiful one!!

I find it really hard to turn off my brain, as there is always so much to do or needs doing, I have learnt this year to delegate a little more and my team are amazing, I have so much support around me but still, if there’s something that I can get stuck in with, then I will. It’s not easy, it’s time consuming and life consuming but for now, I wouldn’t have it any other way 🫶🏻✨
