Here’s our team of 4 representing our wee bakery at the Dalvey cup charity golf event at Lytham Green drive golf course ⛳️ in aid of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity
So what is the Dalvey Cup Club? It’s a rather lovely old-school tradition 🩵
The tradition is:
* 🥃 You don’t buy your own Dalvey Cup — someone who is already part of the tradition gifts one to you.
* 🔢 Cups are numbered, so each person has their own individual cup.
* 🤝 If two members meet and one has forgotten their cup, the tradition says the person without their cup buys the drinks.
* 🥂 Members use them when they get together for drinks or important occasions.
* 🎄 One of the biggest traditions is at 3pm on Christmas Day, when members raise their cups and toast “To absent friends.”
* ❤️ When a member dies, their cup is used for a final toast and can be placed on their coffin.
